Whew! Another small break! LOL, with all the books you recommend that I MUST HAVE, I’ll be able to start my own Cozy Mystery lending library at some point!

Bek, there are definitely worse goals!

Bek, I know how you feel! My husband once told me a couple of years ago that he was wondering why I was not handing lending cards around. He added that he was pretty sure there was at least one public library in Canada that has less books than I have LOL

But, but, but…. Someone might damage one of my books! I only lend to a very select few who treat my books the way I would.
Bek says
Susy S, I’m the same way. I know who loves books in my circle of friends, and they are the ONLY ones who can borrow from me. My books are also my friends, and I insist that they are treated well.

And the sad thing is, I read so many more than are on my shelves! I only keep books that I know I will read over and over! The rest are boxed up, and whenever a box is full, my neighbor takes me and the box to our local convalescent center. THEIR little library is growing, as well!
Susy S says
You are a MUCH better person than I am. I like to keep them so that I can re-read them and this means that I have way more than I can rear/re-read in any given year.
When I move next year, I plan on doing a major purge of anything I have not re-read in the past 10 years. I will donate those books to an organization that has a big charity book sale.
Bek says
Oh, I do too, Susy S. I do, too. There are about 600 on my shelves right now…7 to-read, the rest have been read at LEAST once, and I know that I want to re-read every one of them. Some have been read over a dozen times. I ONLY keep what I know I will re-read multiple times. For instance, I’ve read the “Outlander” series at least once a year since the year that the first book came out. Same with the “Joe Grey” cozy series. But the stuff I read only once is at least that many again. At some point, I’m going to have to make some hard choices, or sleep on a cot in the middle of a bunch of shelves, but not yet. Not yet.

I love Mary Marks’ quilting series. She’s got a terrific talent!
