As I recently told you all, I have been trying to get more authors posted to the Cozy Mystery site. You all have been so patient with me. I know that once you recommend an author, you would enjoy seeing that I finally get him/her up on the site, and some of you are probably frustrated with all of the waiting. Thank you for bearing with me!
Here are four of the newest mystery author additions to the site:
Mollie Cox Bryan: Cumberland Creek Mystery Series
This series features a sleuth who is an ex-investigative journalist. Now that she is a stay-at-home mom (in Virginia) she has more time to sleuth AND scrapbook. Bryan is also the author of two cookbooks: “Mrs. Rowe’s Little Book of Southern Pies” & “Mrs. Rowe’s Restaurant Cookbook“.)
Mary Jane Clark: Piper Donovan Wedding Cake Mystery Series
Even though Piper Donovan would rather be fully employed in her profession of choices (actress), she is very busy between working in her family’s New Jersey bakery business as a professional cake decorator and solving mysteries. Clark is also the author of the Key News Suspense/Thrillers.
Claire Donally: Sunny & Shadow Mystery Series
Sunny Coolidge is a newspaper reporter who has had to move back to Maine because of her ailing father. Shadow is a stray tomcat who has decided to make Sunny “his person”. These two make a great sleuthing duo.
Donna McLean: Sparrow Falls Mystery Series
Addie McRae has moved to Sparrow Falls, a delightfully quaint, little town in North Carolina. Addie is trying to find out more about her Scottish heritage. Tilda MacArdan helps Addie with her heritage questions, and she also helps Addie solve the mysteries that come her (their) way.

Danna, How about some time , whenever you can, no rush, having a list of Cozies that you, or maybe your hubby, would think a man would enjoy?

I can tell you right off the bat, Linda, that my husband enjoys Agatha Christie, Ngaoi Marsh, Ruth Rendell, Ellis Peters, R. D. Wingfield, Sir Conan Doyle, and Colin Dexter.

One my husband really liked (and me as well) was Put a Lid on It by Donald Westlake. It’s fairly cozy with a lot of general mystery to it. Wonderful read.

Hi,
Since you’ve said that you were looking for more authors to post on this site….
My cozy mystery, “Mother, Murder and Me,” won Swyers Publishing 2011 First New Author (fiction) Contest and was published by Swyers in April, 2012. It is available on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and from the publisher. Here’s a brief overview:
When Marabella Vinegar finds her psychotherapist’s bloody corpse, she becomes the NYPD’s perp of choice. Her recently deceased mother– the bane of her existence in life — comes back to help get her out of trouble and find the real killer. Things get even worse when, thanks to Marabella and her mother’s sleuthing, someone tries to kill her. Then another body is found and Marabella is thrown in jail, awaiting trial for two murders. After a second attempt on her life, Marabella is terrified that she’ll be corpse number three.
Brief bio of me: Sandra Gardner is a former contributor and columnist for The New York Times and the author of four non-fiction books: Six Who Dared (Simon & Schuster); Street Gangs (Franklin Watts); Teenage Suicide (Simon & Schuster) and Street Gangs in America (Franklin Watts). Street Gangs in America won a book award from the National Federation of Press Women.
Hope to hear from you,
Sandy Gardner

Danna, I explored your Christmas list this past week and I have requested several mysteries from this list at the library. I have received 2 already. I have “Herald of Death” by Kate Kingsbury and “The Snow White Christmas Cookie” by David Handler. This is the first book that I have read by this David Handler but the front cover makes the book look interesting.
I normally don’t start reading books with a Christmas theme until after Thanksgiving but if I have so many that I have picked up at garage sales and library sales that if I don’t start reading some of these soon, I will never get them read.
Right now I am reading “The Giving Quilt”, an Elm Creek Quilters novel by Jennifer Chiaverini that takes place the week after Thanksgiving. Too bad I have other things to do today or most of my day will spent reading these books, or it will be until Ohio State football and Notre Dame football game comes on. I can read while the games are on, though. Both games are on at the same time, hate that!!!
Thanks for the suggestions for my type cozies from you and Maria. I have already picked up some of these books for him. He is now reading about 3 books each week. The Donald Westlake book has a naked lady(!!??) on the front page with a man tied to a chair, the lady has a gun in her hand. I asked my 71 year old hubby if his heart could stand to see this front cover. He just gave me a sly grin!!
I told him I am very glad that he has picked up the reading habit. This will make these long, dreary dark winters days go by so much faster.

Linda C, I started a Christmas Cozy Mystery last week, but have decided I’m going to drop the author. What a drag! I hate dropping one of my favorite authors, but I have “given her enough chances” and am simply becoming annoyed with that author.
I guess I ought to go explore my Cozy Mystery Book Christmas list again.

Danna, thank you so much for adding my wee books to the list! I am so surprised but also delighted. You have really brightened my day. 🙂

Welcome to the site, Donna! I meant to put your page up a while ago, but I am just slow, slower, slowest when it comes to getting some things done.
