I have added six new authors to the Cozy Mystery site. These authors have all been recommended by some of you who think they would make good additions to the site.
Meredith Cole: Lydia McKenzie Mystery Series
Cole’s first book in the Lydia McKenzie Mystery Series was nominated for the prestigious Agatha Award. Lydia (main sleuth) is a New York photographer who replicates crime scenes so well in her photographs that it makes it look like she could somehow by involved in the crimes.
April Henry: Claire Montrose Mystery Series, Triple Threat Club Mystery Series, and Young Adult Stand Alone Mysteries
Henry’s first Claire Montrose mystery was nominated for the esteemed Agatha Award for Best First Novel. She currently is co-authoring the Triple Threat Club Mystery Series with Lis Wiehl.
Lee Hollis: Hailey Powell Food & Cocktail Mystery Series
Lee Hollis is a pseudonym for brother (Rick Cop) and sister (Holly Simason). Rick wrote for several smash hit sitcoms (among them, Golden Girls and Wings) and Holly writes a cooking column in a newspaper. Together they write the Hailey Powell Food & Cocktail Mystery Series, which features a sleuth who is a newspaper “manager” and cooking column writer.
Barbara Neely: Blanche White Mystery Series
Neely’s first Blanche White mystery won the honored Agatha Award and Anthony Award for Best First Novel. The sleuth, Blanche, is an African American woman who works as a housekeeper.
Nicola Upson: Josephine Tey Mystery Series
As many of you know, Josephine Tey was the Scottish author of the Scotland Yard Inspector Grant Mysteries. Upson writes this mystery series, focusing on Tey as the 1930s London sleuth. (Upson “read English” at the University of Cambridge.)
Lis Wiehl: Triple Threat Club Mystery Series and East Salem Trilogy
Wiehl, a Harvard-educated lawyer (with her M.A. in Literature) writes the Triple Threat Club Mystery Series (with April Henry) and she also co-authors the East Salem Trilogy with Pete Nelson. the Triple Threat Club series features three women (a reporter, a prosecutor, and an FBI Agent) who pool all of their resources to solve crimes.

Ginger, you’re way ahead of me! As I said, all of them were recommended to be included on the site. I have only read one of the authors on this list so far. I read Death of a Kitchen Diva (by Lee Hollis) earlier this month.

Danna, I am between books so I thought I would once again check out you Cozy listings to see if I could find something really interesting to look for. Well, I found quite a lot of books that seem very interesting to me.
Over the last several weeks many of us who post replies and/or comments have said what we like or don’t like to read. After once again looking through this list. I find that if someone can’t find something interesting to read, maybe that someones is just hopeless.
Since we are getting into the warmer sunny days I was looking for books that take place along some seashore. Anything that takes place on the American shore line or on an island appeals to me. I found several in your list.
I know I will find plenty to read.

Linda, you’re right, there really is a lot out there to read!

I read in some earlier blogs that your husband dvrs the Dallas Cowboys. Is he fan of them? I am huge cowboys fan.
I live in northern Louisiana and boy do I get grief about it. But I had the last laugh the year the Saints won the Super Bowl. Their 1 loss was to the Cowboys. Just had to tell you.
I was going through some of your earlier blogs to discover new authors and check on books I might have missed. I’m trying to update my list before May books come.

Ginger, yes, my husband follows the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. It’s amazing how fast those games go when you can fast forward through the ads!
I bet you do get a lot of grief out in Louisiana rooting for the Cowboys!

Ginger, I think Barbara Neely’s books look really interesting. I am sorry to see that she stopped publishing books a little while ago…

Ginger, Although I live in Bengal’s/ Brown’s territory, several of my nephews are big Dallas Cowboy fans. One nephew had his whole wedding decorated in Dallas Cowboy theme. The bride even wore a huge Dallas cowboy white hat. All members of the wedding party, parents included all wore Dallas Cowboy gear. This was quite a sight. The wedding party all arrived at the church and the reception in a horse drawn buckwagon. All of that Dallas blue and the white really was very pretty.
