You as well! I happened upon a fabulous PBS special last night: a Memorial Day concert from Washington. Depending on your PBS station it may be repeated. It was very moving.

Paula, I’ll try to see if I can catch that on repeat!

Yes, and pray for safety and that they would be reunited with thier loved ones soon. Often when we are out will will see usually an older gentleman wearing a cap that says veteran of some branch of the armed forces, we try to say “Thank You for serving sir.” It makes thier day! But last week the nurse at my appt was wearing a t-shirt that said US Air Force, found out she was a Veteran as well!

Novella, I also hope for the safety of those serving the nation overseas. And I certainly agree that there are often veterans in surprising places… though it could just be that I’m getting older that makes them seem to be getting younger…

It is a day that should be held in all our hearts. But Saturday I was the only person dressed in red, white and blue. I have them on today to honor all the remarkable soldiers, sailors. airmen and marines who gave their lives for our liberty and safety.
God bless them all.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karen, I couldn’t agree more.

Thank you, Danna. I spent a good part of the day looking up Dad’s old military records and finding out all sorts of things I either never knew or had forgotten. It was productive, and made me feel very close to him again.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I’m glad that Memorial Day was a good day of remembrance for you.
