I’ve just discovered books by Marjorie Eccles. They are very good and some have won various prizes. I think they belong in the cozy genre and hope you will list them.

    Danna,

I noticed at the Lavene website http://www.joyceandjimlavene.com/ it says another book (Thyme to Die) will be released in the Peggy Lee Garden Mystery series on May 12th. BUT, I can’t find it on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Do you know anything about this? I enjoyed this series, but it’s been on a ‘hiatus’ (?) for awhile.

MJ, this is indeed strange! I have been able to find someone who read it, but I am assuming it was from an advance copy, since there doesn’t seem to be any other way to get it.

I checked on Amazon and it seems to only be available as an e-book. Said it was released May 10 and available only for Kindle.

Sandy, I have heard that some authors make exclusive deals with Amazon. (I checked to see if A Thyme to Die is available for the Nook, and, unfortunately, it’s not. Maybe it will be later on…)

I, too, appreciate your dedication & hard work to keep us readers up to date on our favorite cozy writers. I’m a voracious reader, regularly reading 15+ books a month. I know Jeanne Dams’ latest in the Dorothy Martin series is scheduled to be published in June, but I have already read it and the hard copy is available for purchase on Amazon. I was surprised to find it was available & though I normally purchase for Kindle, I went ahead & bought the book so that I could read it 2 months early! By the way, (my full review is on Amazon) I liked the book, thought it was better than the last one in the series and was happy to see Dorothy’s husband, Alan, taking more of a role in her investigations rather then just scoffing at her for getting involved.
Just wanted to pass on to all that the book can be purchased in hard back now, for anyone interested.
Looking forward to many others on your list for June!

Queenvon, I wonder if all of Jeanne M. Dams’ Dorothy Martin books are released early. I think the same thing was true for the last one >>> for some reason it was released before its scheduled date.

Thank you for the new list. I always look forward to seeing it each month. I just started reading the Callie Parrish mystery series and was wondering when she might be publishing a new novel? Also the last one she published in 2011 is not on your list. The title is: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, There’s A Body In My Car. This is a very good cozy series and I’m glad I found it thanks to your site!

Cathy H. Just because of your recommendation I looked to see if the library that I frequent the most had any books by this author and I found 3. I did put in requests for all 3. I am ready to read again. I am still crocheting quite a lot but I have missed reading so here’s hoping these books by the author you recommended will prove to be a new favorite series for me.

Danna, Sorry about not mentioning the author that CathyH. was asking about. Sometimes I wonder why God gave me a brain when quite often I forget to use the one that He did give me!!

Linda, the only reason I reminded people you were talking about Fran Rizer is that I think sometimes people just read the comments as they come in. It never seems like you don’t use what “God gave” you!

Your library probably has an online e-book or audio book library. Ask them. My mom listens to audiobooks while ahe crochets.

Danna, I am looking for a series that I read a few years ago. It is about an aging movie/TV star who lives in Hollywood with her gay son and I believe an Hispanic maid. The son has a party supply business. She sometimes appears in movies or TV shows, but is always looking to make a comeback. Thank you. reginav

As always love your new additions!! I’m taking a nice holiday in July & one of main things to do will be relaxing with a nice coffee & catching up on some well earned reading. I can’t wait to sit back on the couch & enjoy some of my fav authors with not having to worry about work.

May I recommend the author Donis Casey to you. She writes thr Alafair Tucker Mystery series about a family in 1900s Oklahoma. The series is well written and captures the lives of a large family in rural Oklahoma very well.

I love this list, it is so important to me.
Can someone explain to me why as with Joyce Lavene, Thyme to Die is not made into a paperback book, I loved all her Peggy Lee books but I will not go to Nook or Kindle, I love books, the touch, the look, etc. I am sure it has to do with economics but I would love to hear others. I could never read a “book” on kindle or nook but hey that’s me a 66 year old great grandmother. Thanks so much people, you all are great. Pata
