Danna, This looks like a good list of new releases. I especially will look forward to the Nevada Barr book also Blaize Clement’s books. Some of these books have quite a bit of knowledge and history of the areas that the story takes place in. I am an American history buff so I do like it when writers like Nevada Barr throw in some historical tidbits. Writers like Blaize Clement will throw in some hints on being a good pet parent.
I love to read. Some of my siblings are having lazer surgery on their eyes but as much of a part my life reading is, I just don’t know if I want to take a chance that I won’t be able to read. Oh well, a different topic for a different day.
Sandra says
I am like you Linda, I like books where I can enjoy learning or revisiting the geography and history of the area the stories take plan in. Nevada Barr books are perfect examples of that.
Andie says
Mary Jane Clark has her second Piper Donavan mystery, The Look of Love, coming out on Jan. 17, 2012.
I read her first, To Have and To Kill, a few months ago on Kindle.
I think it falls into the cozy genre, with some humor, some romance and a fair amount of suspense, along with some baking (wedding cake).
This is something of a culinary mystery but with less kitchen activity than most.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thank you, Andie, for telling us about Mary Jane Clark. (Incidentally, she is on my list of authors to get posted on the site.)
Andie says
My face is red. I should have looked at my Amazon wish list before posting earlier today. I forgot all about these.
1/2/12 -Stay At Home Dead by Jeffrey Allen, who also writes as Jeff Shelby. This is the first in what he hints will be a series. I’ve only read one of his books, Wicked Break and it is not a cozy.
1/8/12 -Death by Killer Mop Doll by Lois Winston is the follow up to Assault with a Deadly Glue Gun, published in January 2011. I thought it was pretty good, others either loved it or hated it. Feuding pets are hilarious.
1/8/12 -Deadly Campaign (A Last Laff Mystery) by Alan Orloff continues the series that began with Killer Routine last April. If you like stand-up comics, you will love KR.
Donna says
As always, you keep me up to date on all my favourite authors and keep introducing me to new ones as well. Keep up the great work!

Every now and again I get the urge to reread some of my favorite series books but then Danna you come along with a list of new releases and you know what? There is only so much time in a person’s life that can be spent reading. After all, there are houses to clean, hubbies and dogs to feed, family to visit. maybe someday I will find the time to reread some of these favorites, but not now. There are too many new releases.
Margaret says
Danna, I added a post of two new Christie Books in an older post (Happy December) but this is probably a better place for it. I believe they were released late November (11/22/11). Murder in the Making:More Stories and Secrets from Agatha Christie Notebooks, by John Curran and Agatha Christie an Autobiography. The later includes a CD featuring Agatha Christie. I don’t think they are re-releases. I just ordered them for Christmas Gifts! I hope they are Great!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks, Margaret, for telling us about those two new biographies on Agatha Christie.
MJ says
Lois Winston’s second book in the Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery series is due to be released Jan. 8, 2012. The title is “Death By Killer Mop Doll”. I enjoyed the first book in this series, “Assault With a Deadly Glue Gun”. She writes her stories with a lot of wit (some parts LOL funny/zany). I’m looking forward to the second book.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks, MJ, for telling us about Lois Winston.

FYI – I have a new cozy out. The Berton Hotel was published this month.

Ann, thank you for telling me about your new Cozy Mystery. I will add The Berton Hotel to your page.
Thanks, again!
Tom says
This is stressing me out…..I am going to have to stop working so I can read all these!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Don’t quite your day job, Tom! Spend your lunch hour reading…
Rachel says
I love when the next month’s new releases list arrives. Small things…
Andie – thanks for the suggestion of the Mary Jane Clark -Piper Donavan mystery series. I have added them to my wish/to read list.
Edie Dykeman says
Sounds like quite a variety. Talk about prequels – Nevada Barr has a prequel as the 17th in a series (I’m reading your posts out of order, obviously).
Looking forward to catching as many of these new books as possible!
I like when you list what is coming out as it gives me a chance to pick and choose, and possibly try someone new. Thank you!!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks, Edie. A lot of us like to know what mystery books to watch out for in the months to come.
Regina says
I just want to revert to December’s list. I just finished Susan Hill’s “The Betrayal of Trust”. WOW !! She presented an ending that I never expected. I started reading that series late, but now I can hardly wait for the next one.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Regina, thank you for telling us about how much you enjoyed Susan Hill’s The Betrayal of Trust. I know a lot of us enjoy finding out about the authors others are reading… especially when they enjoy them so much.
Sandra says
Oh soooo many good new releases coming out!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
I agree with you, Sandra.
Jerry says
I just finished Death on Tour by Janice Hamrick. Great story. She has another book coming out next year called Death Makes the Cut. New author very good.

I am so pleased to have found this site (where have I been that I just found it … sheesh!!). I’ve been a huge fan of StopYoureKillingMe for years now and I’m thrilled to have found another site to keep me informed about all my favorite authors and introduce me to new ones. Keep up the good work !!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome to the site, Donna!

I just finished Stuart Woods new book called D C Dead. Stone Barrington. 2 night read as usual. He has another one coming out in 2012 Unnatural Acts. Almost finished with Lucky Stiff by Deborah Coonts. Can’t put it down. She also has another book coming out in 2012. A Happy and Healthy New Year to all Cozy readers and to Danna you have a great website. Keep it going.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jerry, thanks for telling us about Stuart Woods and Deborah Coonts.
Happy New Year to you!
Amy says
Hi – you’re probably already aware of it, but Blaize Clement died last summer. Her son is actually writing the two final books (including this one) under her name.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thank you, Amy, for the Blaize Clement update.
Suzie says
My Ghost & the Bogus Bookseller (Cleo Coyle/Alice Kimberly) was pre-ordered, then got a message that it was backordered, and just now, got a message that it has been cancelled! I hope that the publishers haven’t cancelled completely!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
That is really odd, Suzie. You are indeed right about Amazon. So I went to Barnes & Noble and the same thing is going on with them! I wonder if the fact that the book cover had “Cleo Coyle” on it instead of “Alice Kimberly” is the reason for the mix-up…
MJ says
Now that books for January have been released, I see the cover of Ghost and the Bogus Bookseller has Cleo Coyle listed as the author on Amazon and on the coffeehousemystery.com website. Barnes and Noble doesn’t have it listed, even if you put in the ISBN. Do you suppose they have retired ‘Alice Kimberly’?
The following is from their website. However, she states she will address it in her next newsletter. BUT the newsletter is not posted on their website. You can only access it via email:

Note to Cleo about Ghost and the Bogus Bookseller
Hi, Can you please tell me the release date for The Ghost & the Bogus Bookseller? Amazon had it listed as Jan 3, 2012, but Barnes & Noble had no listing for it. Thanks!
Audrey in MI
Cleo’s reply:
Hi, Audrey – I will be answering your query in my next newsletter. If you need to susbscribe, send an e-mail that says “Sign me up” to CoffeehouseMystery @gmail.com
For anyone curious, you can find out more about my “Ghost” series at the Haunted Bookshop page of this website. Click here to jump there.
Thanks again, Audrey, for asking, and I hope you have a *spirited* new year,
~ Cleo (Alice)
Holly says
Oh my gosh, so overwhelming. I have been reading cozies for about 2 years now and feel like I’ve barely made a dent. So many authors SO LITTLE TIME. I love this site and am glad I found it. Hoping it will help me organize a little better and find more authors.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome to the site, Holly. When I first started the site, I could vouch for every author on it. But I have added so many authors to the site who came recommended by Cozy Mystery site readers >>> that I can no longer vouch for every one of them. I have, however, added quite a few of those recommended authors to my list of favorite authors. Hope you have the same good luck!
