First off, I must warn you that this entry has nothing to do with mysteries. However, it does have to do with a Christmas movie, and I know lots of us like those! Those of you who have been with me for a while know I love seasonal movies! I post entries about both Halloween and Christmas television movies as soon as I find them. Well, this movie I haven’t found yet, however, I know it’s on its way!
I am excited to tell you that Debbie Macomber will be releasing a new Christmas novel, Dashing Through the Snow, just in time for the Hallmark channel to make it into one of its Christmas television movies. In the past, we have been treated to two of Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle Christmas movies as well as last year’s Mr. Miracle Christmas movie. Well this year, we’ll be able to catch Dashing Through the Snow during Hallmark’s Christmas line-up, which I’ll be posting as soon as I find it.
Debbie Macomber doesn’t write Cozy Mysteries, however she does write Cozy novels. She was recommended (a few years ago) by several Cozy Mystery readers who thought her books definitely belonged on the site because of their particular Cozy-ness. Some of you are familiar with Debbie Macomber through her novels, some through her knitting books, and others may watch her Cedar Cove series on the Hallmark network.
As I told you two days ago when I published my Upcoming Television Mystery Movies for September 2015, I’ll be watching for more mystery movies (or in this case seasonal movies) that I think you all might enjoy as much as I will!
Patti says
Thanks so much for letting us know, Danna! I’ve loved Debbie’s books since I first read “Season of Angels” in 1992 or 1993, and Christmas (or any holiday) movies/books are just THE BEST. Can’t wait.

Patti, I did some searching on the internet and found out that Hallmark is not going to have the Twelve Days of Christmas, rather they are going to have 16 original Christmas movies, one of which will be this one. I can’t wait!
Tiffani says
So glad you posted this! I love seasonal/holiday movies just as much as cozy’s! Hallmark Channel always has a great line up and watching their movies is always a part of my holiday traditions. Thanks!

Tiffani, I’ll be posting an entry about Hallmark’s Christmas movies as soon as I see the official schedule. Since it’s so hot down here in San Antonio, I rely on these holiday movies to get me in the winter wonderland mood!
Virginia says
I hope this movie is better than Mr. Miracle. I was very disappointed in it.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Virginia, I have to admit that I really, really missed Doris Roberts in Hallmark’s Miracle movie last year!
Jackie Griffey says
Happy reading and writing to all of us!

Jackie, thank you! I hope you’re having a great time reading and writing, too!
Carole says
I’m unashamedly a Hallmark movie addict, Danna, so thanks for sharing about this one. As soon as Hallmark releases each year’s list, I make a file so I won’t miss one, then schedule them to record as soon as they’re available.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Carole, I do the same thing with the Hallmark holiday movies.
Mary says
Let us know when it will be shown
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Mary, I will do that!
Lisa says
Hallmark released their schedule and this one is not on there. Do you know why?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Lisa, please let me know where you found the Hallmark channel 2015 Christmas schedule. I don’t seem to be able to find it on their site. Right now, they have the Countdown to Christmas with all the movies from 2014. They seem to want to guard the 2015 schedule quite a bit. I’d be delighted to see their 2015 Christmas schedule on their site. (I have information about their 2015 schedule that I plan to post which I have had to find at other sources on the internet.)
Lisa says
If you go to Hallmark Channel and then click on countdown to Christmas and then from there click on schedule. They give you the movies, the actors and the date it will premiere. I saw it yesterday. That’s when I saw that Dashing through the Snow isn’t in their lineup anymore.
Lisa says
Never mind. I just found it. Hallmark movies and Mysteries channel just released their holiday schedule and its on there.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Lisa, thanks! I just posted the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel and the Hallmark channel line-ups for the holidays:
Hallmark & Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Countdown to Christmas 2015
Bonnie says
Is Dashing Through the Snow going to be televised or did I already miss it?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bonnie, here’s the Hallmark & Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Countdown to Christmas 2015. It looks like Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow will air on Sunday – December 13, 2015 9/8c on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel as well as the Hallmark channel.
Sprite says
I love Christmas movies and watch many each year. There are very few on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries that appeal to me. They’re all pretty sappy, sad or depressing, regardless that the outcome is happy.
Dashing Through the Snow seemed like one of the few that was going to be upbeat and fun so I recorded it. It was a romantic holiday movie, but the story line of Ashley being on the FBI watch list was ridiculous. Our government investigates people enough to know this person could not be on the watch list. It ruined the movie as soon as I realized this plot was going to carry through the entire movie, even if they let her go at the end.
I certainly hope that piece of the plot in the book was better written than it was for the movie.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sprite, I watched Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snowas well as Hallmark’s A Christmas Detour. They both seemed to have the same basic plot line, although I much preferred A Christmas Detour.
Tess says
Is it going to air on the Hallmark Channel because I want to watch it but we do not have the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Tess, I don’t think they ever showed this on the Hallmark channel. I think they changed it to another new Christmas movie even before it showed, so I doubt they will be showing it on the Hallmark channel this year. However, this is just speculation on my part…
