This very well may be my last Hallmark Movies & Mysteries blog entry. It has been quite a while since the channel has offered any NEW Cozy Mystery movies. The Cozy Mystery movies that they do air are all repeats, and they aren’t even showing many of those! It seems like most of the movies they are currently showing are romance and Christmas movies, and since this is the Cozy Mystery site >>> I don’t see any reason to continue posting these entries.
Please let me know if you see any NEW Cozy Mystery movies on the channel. Once the channel starts airing some new mystery material, I might start writing more blog entries about them. So, for now, this should do it!

Here is the page on my Cozy Mystery site with plenty of entries about movies and television shows you may enjoy:
Cozy Mystery List TV and Movie Section – all you have to do is click on the link to go to that page on my site.
I’ll update this page when the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries website updates their schedule.
Pattie B. says
Agreed. The Hallmark leadership seems to be taking a very different turn in programming on all their channels especially this one. I don’t know of any mystery movies or series of movies in production. It’s so odd. They are losing so many of their loyal viewers to other channels because of it. Oh, well. Corporate choices, right.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Pattie B. – I am so sorry to see what is happening to the channel. If they can produce more than (what is it?…) 40 Christmas movies a year for their various channels – you would think they would have a few mystery series they could focus on…
Marcy says
I used to enjoy a good mystery movie on Sunday evening. I don’t understand why they have discontinued the mystery movies in favor of horrible sappy story lines that just repeat with each horrible sappy story.
I don’t watch the Hallmark channel any more.
Adele Mancini says
Hallmark Movies and Mysteries are not what they used to be! Too many repeat movies always shown no new Shows anymore! What happened? I see some of the actors who played in them have left for another network?! The Christmas in July shows are so old! Is Hallmark going out of business? So sad as I used to enjoy that Channel. It was my go to channel because Cable tv really sucks for a long time already. Nothing but game shows or competitive shows no good movies or comedy shows!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Adele, how about Christmas in June?!? I couldn’t believe it when they started their Christmas in July during the last week in June!
Estee Singer says
Thankyou for the update on HMM.
Like all their viewers I am very disappointed
That they have discontinued mysteries.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
So am I, Estee.
Neikya says
I’m so sad that Hallmark Movies and Mysteries seems to be going in a different direction. I really love these movies and your updates have been so helpful to keep me informed on what’s airing.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Neika, I, too, am sad they have decided to focus on romance movies, old Christmas movies, and old mystery series during their primetime airing times.
Susan says
I no longer watch Hallmark Chanel.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan, it looks like a lot of us have decided enough is enough…
Susan says
Thank you for all that you do, and for your stance on cozy mystery movies
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan, I just wish Hallmark Movies & Mysteries would go back to what it was when it started. They had several Cozy Mystery series they would focus on each month. A lot of us looked forward to the premieres they would air each month – since we enjoyed following our sleuths as they continued to solve crimes.
M says
It’s sad they have stretched so far from mystery’s period!!! I miss them. That’s why I subscribed to this channel. It’s not part of my package. I may cancel since they’re changing venue drastically.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
M, I’m hoping that the departure of some of the actresses Hallmark gave jobs to for several years has caused this lull in their Cozy Mystery movies line-up and that they are going to be able to develop other Cozy Mystery series soon. Clearly that was the intention when they added this channel to their networks. I’m guessing that the defection of those actresses sent them for a loop…
Moo says
From what I gather there was a shake up at Crown Media management, with the CEO stepping down, that combined with their fav stars(Candace Bure, Lacey Charbert,Jill Wagner)going over to *** network, and the new CEO saying she wants to go in a different direction.Apparently even with pushbacks from loyal viewers, they remain noncommittal and vague, from what I have been reading.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Moo, the defection of several actresses who carried some of the major Cozy Mystery series has been quite a shocker to me!
(Moo, I substituted “***” since I don’t want to publicize the other network.)
Jo Anne Yerkes says
Well, the Hannah Swenson movies were so much different than the books, that I didn’t enjoy them.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jo, that’s a shame – I can certainly see how such a different portrayal of a character and series could be off-putting for a big fan.
Marilyn says
Agree with everyone else. If you’re going to call it Murder & Mysteries that’s what you should show.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marilyn, it’s definitely been a big disappointment lately.
CONSTANCE Williams says
Actually Signed Sealed Delivered is one of the best ones they’ve had so far when are they going to put that back on
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Constance, I don’t know if they will, let alone when.
Cece says
I agree and am missing new mysteries. I am not fond of reruns.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Cece, it’s definitely a disappointing trend.
Emzee says
Hallmark M & M has become VERY boring, just showing old mystery repeats and Christmas movies which have already aired a gazillion times on their other channels. Might I suggest the OVATION channel on Cable? They show many Canadian & British mysteries, many of them cozies.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Emzee, I’ll have to take a look at Ovation! It might be a good alternative.
Karin says
I am tired of the Christmas in June and July…..
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karin, increasing the percentage of the year devoted to Christmas can be quite annoying.
Cece says
I agree!!!
Mary E McMains says
This is terrible! The only reason I watch hallmark is the mysteries which you have so kindly offered us. I don’t care for romances at all, so I guess hallmark and I are parting ways completely. Darn, I loved all those wonderful old mysteries. Thank you for the mystery book lists and the movie list. I sincerely appreciate all you do!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
It’s definitely a disappointment. I certainly hope they resume making new mysteries at some point.
Gram says
I really miss the mystery movies that have been on The Hallmark mystery and Movie Channel! I am so disappointed on the way it has been showing regular and Christmas movies. They should make more good mysteries! Please get back to the great mystery movies you have been producing!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Gram, I don’t personally have anything to do with Hallmark’s choice in programming, but I certainly do agree with your hope that they return to more mystery focused movies!
Pat H. says
It’s unfortunate that they don’t seem to be making any new mysteries. What is more unfortunate is that they do not seem to have enough respect for their loyal viewers to explain what is going on and what to expect.
Colleen Hawkins says
I really enjoyed your TV and Movie Cozy Mysteries list. I have a couple to recommend. One is PBS Miss Scarlett and the Duke. The other is The Queens of Mystery.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Colleen, I’m glad that you find the lists helpful, and thanks for the recommendations!
Sherri says
I’m very sad Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is going in a different direction, and not producing more mysteries. I used to loved watching Sunday night showing new mysteries. I’m not watching anymore, they’re mostly playing old reruns
