It’s that time once again… time to add new authors to the Cozy Mystery site! As usual I am posting authors who Cozy Mystery readers have recommended to me. I’m always looking for new-to-me Cozy Mystery authors to try (with the hopes of adding them to my favorite authors list) so it’s always a pleasure to post authors who look really promising to me.
Vickie Fee – Vickie Fee grew up in Memphis, but now lives in upper Michigan. She earned her degree in journalism, which she put to good use reporting in a number of small newspapers. Her Cozy Mystery series, the Liv and Di in Dixie Mystery Series, stars party planner Liv McKay and her best friend Di Souther, and is set in the fictional town of Dixie, Tennessee.
Julianne Holmes – Besides being a Cozy Mystery author, Julianne Holmes is the director of a service organization for theaters in the Boston area. She writes the Clock Shop Mystery Series, starring an expert clockmaker named Ruth Clagan who lives in Massachusetts.
Catherine Lloyd – Though Catherine Lloyd now lives in the United States, she was born and grew up in London, England. Lloyd writes of her birth nation in the Kurland St. Mary Mystery Series, a historical Cozy series set in the 1810s in the small English town of Kurland St. Mary. The series features Miss Lucy Harrington as its sleuth. Major Robert Kurland helps Lucy with her sleuthing.
Joyce Tremel – A former police secretary, Joyce Tremel now writes the Brewing Trouble Mystery Series, starring Maxine “Max” O’Hara, a certified brewmaster and owner of the Allegheny Brew House in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With that in mind, it’s also no surprise that Joyce is herself a Pittsburgh native!
These authors (and many, many more!) can be found on the Cozy Mystery site.

Great news! New (to me) authors and series to read! Yay!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan, I haven’t tried any of these authors yet, but I’m with you >>> about finding new authors to read!
CuppaCozy says
Love this site! I don’t know what I’d do without all the information here. Well, maybe I’d reach the end of my TBR list because it wouldn’t be so long, but who wants that! Thanks, Danna.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
CuppaCozy, I don’t know >>> I wouldn’t mind it if my TBR list was just a tad bit shorter.

I enjoyed Joyce Tremel’s book very much and made it a recommendation last month. I’m going to read Just Killing Crime next.

Robin in Oregon, right after I added Vickie Fee, Julianne Holmes, and Joyce Tremel to the Cozy Mystery site I had to update their new releases on the Soon to be Released page!
Suzanne says
A Series that I really Like is the Kay Driscoll series by Susan Bernhardt.
Kay Driscoll is in he 50’s, a retired nurse and she and her musician husband Phil have moved to a small town in Wisconsin called Sudberry Falls, where Phil can follow his dream of playing jazz and learning to make guitars. Kay’s best friends Deidre who is a herbalist trying to open her own shop and Elizabeth a divorcee who is living her life to the fullest help her in keeping the chocolate pastries in control at Sweet Marissa’s and in solving any trouble her nosiness might get her into. There are 3 books so far in this series The Ginseng Conspiracy, Murder Under the Tree, and Murder by Fireworks. Susan is a new author and some people might not get her humor because it is sometimes on the dry side but I found myself laughing so hard because the home scenes are so true to life, especially in, Murder by Fireworks, if you have been married longer than a minute. I hope people will read this and give her books a look. I know I wasn’t sure at first but once started, well when I was on the 3rd book my husband asked who I was reading when I told him his reply, “I’ll get carry-out” because he knew after the 2nd book I wouldn’t stop reading to cook

Suzanne, thanks! I have Susan Bernhardt on three of the pages on my site: Christmas Mysteries, Fourth of July Mysteries, and Halloween Mysteries.
Janice AN M says
I just finished reading Vickie Fee’s Death Crashes the Party this weekend and cannot wait until the release of the next book in the series (August 2016 if my memory serves me correctly!). I fell in love with Liv and Di! I cheered for them, I wanted to help them out when needed…and I’d gladly working for Liv at her party planning company.
I finished Julianne Homes’ Just Killing Time about a month ago and fell in love with Ruth. I look forward to the next book in the series, also.
I will be tracking down Joyce Tremel’s To Brew or Not to Brew because I love Pittsburgh and have been waiting for a cozy that was set in the wonderful city!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Janice An M, wow, it sounds like the new “batch” of Cozy Mystery authors who I put on the site is totally to your liking! Thanks for telling us about Vickie Fee and Julianne Holmes!

Such pretty covers on all of these! Thanks for the recommendations!

S.J. Pajonas, actually, I haven’t read these authors yet. They do, however, come recommended by other Cozy Mystery readers.

I suggest adding Bill Noel and his Folly Beach mystery series to the site. According to Amazon: “Bill Noel’s career as a novelist began in 2007 with the publication of FOLLY, the first book in the Folly Beach Mystery series. Fans of the popular series have been treated to a new book each year since then. The books are fast-paced mysteries mixing humor and intrigue and have been described as “perfect beach reads.” The tenth book in the series, BONEYARD BEACH, was published in November 2015.” I’ve read all the books in the series and thoroughly enjoy them. He is getting rave reviews on Amazon. A cover photo is on Amazon. Many have a Kindle version.

Dawn, thanks for telling us about Bill Noel.
Margaret StashEmpress says
I love Catherine Lloyd’s KURLAND ST. MARY MYSTERY Series. I’ve read all 3 books so far. Really love the historical setting (and you know I’m a sucker for lavish clothing and furnishings that go with upper class historical sleuths, right?) As I’ve commented in past, the sleuth in this series is a strong gutsy independent woman living at a time when women were supposed to be meek and subservient. LOVE this series & look forward to more.

MargaretStashEmpress, thanks for the Catherine Lloyd shout-out.
Jenn says
Thanks for highlighting Catherine Lloyd – I just tried her first one and really enjoyed it!

Jenn, you’re welcome. I like hearing when a new-to-the site author is particularly good. Thanks for the Catherine Lloyd shout-out!
