We’ll have a lot of new Cozy Mystery series starting in March! Four in fact, so we’ll get right to it…
First up, Cynthia Baxter will be releasing Murder With a Cherry On Top, the first in the Lickety Splits Mystery Series. Kate McKay is returning from her big job in the big city as a Manhattanite lawyer to return to her Hudson Valley hometown of Wolfort’s Rest to care for her ill grandmother. Fortunately, it does give her an opportunity to open her dream store, an ice cream store she names Lickety Splits Ice Cream Shoppe. Unfortunately, it reunites her with an old high school rival, who now sells frozen treats as well – and unsurprisingly turns up dead soon after! Cynthia Baxter also writes the Reigning Cats & Dogs Mystery Series, the Murder Packs a Suitcase Mystery Series, and (as Cynthia Blair) the Pratt Twins Mystery Series.
Next, Lynn Cahoon will be starting the Farm-to-Fork Mystery Series, with the book Who Moved My Goat Cheese?. Angie Turner and her best friend Felicia are starting up a new farm-to-table restaurant in their rural hometown in Idaho, and one step in that is getting to know local farmers like old farmer Moss. But when Moss turns up dead, it will be up to Angie to make sure that the murder gets solved. Lynn Cahoon also writes the Tourist Trap Mystery Series and the Cat Latimer Mystery Series.
Kate Dyer-Seeley will be releasing the first in her Rose City Mystery Series, Natural Thorn Killer. Britta Johnston has left a useless husband and a dead-end job to pursue her artistic talents at her aunt’s floral shop in Portland, Oregon. When an unscrupulous real estate developer who has been buying up waterfront property turns up dead, it leaves many of her acquaintances as potential, including her aunt! She’ll need to find out who really dun-it to make sure her aunt doesn’t end up behind bars. Kate Dyer-Seeley also writes the Pacific Northwest Mystery Series, and (as Ellie Alexander) the Bakeshop Mystery Series and the Sloan Krause Mystery Series.
Finally, Nancy Herriman will be releasing Searcher of the Dead, the first in her Bess Ellyott Mystery Series. Elizabethan Londoner Bess Ellyott is an herbalist and widow who fled to the countryside after the murder of her husband. When her husband’s brother turns up dead as well – apparently suicide, though Bess knows better – she knows that the murders will continue until she can discover the true killer. Nancy Herriman also writes the Mystery of Old San Francisco Mystery Series.

Just want to share that I’m reading the first book in Sarah Graves’ new series, Death by Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake, which I gave to myself for my birthday. I’m really enjoying it.

Nancy, I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying it.
Kathleen K says
Thanks.

Kathleen, you’re welcome!

I think I’ll have to take a peek at the new Lynn Cahoon series. It looks clever, and I like clever! Recipes would be lovely, but I can’t find a mention of them anywhere. Ah well.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I haven’t seen anything about recipes for this series either. I know that they’re popular, so it’s a shame!
Bek says
It certainly won’t stop me from reading and enjoying, but OH! Recipes for fresh foods are always wonderful! I love the whole farm-to-table thing! There’s another series I love, which escapes me just now (I’m recovering from flu, and am braindead) about a restaurant that serves fresh, and is opened 3 seasons of the year in a small Maine (I THINK) town…
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I am glad you are getting over your flu. Hope you feel better soon! Maybe someone will be able to identify your series — it sounds good.
Susy S says
Bek, That is the Laurie Cass series with Eddie the cat. The restaurant is run by her best friend.
Bek says
Thanks, Susy S! I knew I should know it. I actually just ordered the newest book in that series!

Hi – love your blog. Your site is so helpful for finding authors that when I find a new one I try to make sure to tell you. I just finished a fun book by Kyra Davis called Sex, Murder and a Double Latte. There are more in the series. The protagonist is a mystery writer who lives in San Francisco and ends up solving mysteries on the side. The books have a lot of diversity too which is always nice to read.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Michelle, sounds interesting.
Kim says
I wholeheartedly second the Kyra Davis recommendation! The mysteries are fresh, funny and fast paced.

The Fast and the Furriest by Sofie Ryan is due out tomorrow. I am hoping to refrain from buying it until next week as I am on vacation and really don’t need to add to the weight of my carry-on going home. We will see how much self control I have this week.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susy S, good luck with your self control effort. I find I don’t have much when it comes to books.
Susy S says
I have not bought the book yet, but my sweet hubby is getting it as part of my valentines. Unfortunately, my self control was NOT good. Went to a huge used book sale in Phoenix, AZ and bought 40 books.
Only about a dozen were by authors I have read and the rest were ones I picked up to try based on your lists on this site. Since I currently don’t seem to enjoy the historicals, your site lets me know which NOT to try, as this time.

Susy, I’m always glad to hear when the site is helpful letting people know what they’re looking to read >>> even if it’s to know what they’re less interested in reading first!
