As most of you know, I have a very long list of authors to post on the site. However, when it came time for me to add some new authors to the site, I decided that I would literally add some new authors to the site. I chose these four new authors to the Cozy Mystery genre, based on some of your letters. Some of you thought I simply had to add these authors to the site right now!
Erika Chase writes the Ashton Corners Book Club Mystery Series. This series features Lizzie Turner, a reading specialist in Alabama. Lizzie is joined by her five friends in her mystery book club, and her two Siamese cats at home.
Chrystle Fiedler pens the Natural Remedies Mystery Series, which is set on Long Island. Willow McQuade is a naturopathic doctor who solves mysteries. Along the way, we get tips on natural remedies. (Fiedler also writes non fiction about natural and healthy living.)
Victoria Hamilton writes the Vintage Kitchen Mystery Series. This series is set in Michigan, and features Jaymie Leighton as our sleuth who collects vintage cookware and cookbooks. Jaymie has a three-legged Yorkie Poo (Hoppy) who is quite a darling.
Marie Moore is the author of the Sydney March Mystery Series. Sydney is a New York-based travel agent who takes travel groups on trips. Luckily, she is able to find time to sleuth while performing her travel guide duties.

I just finished Erica Chase’s new book. Victoria Hamilton is on my to buy list. The other two are now added to my author’s list to check out. Thanks for adding them .

Ginger, I usually go through my list of authors to post chronologically. But, since I have heard about these authors from Cozy Mystery readers, I decided to make an exception.

Danna I was wondering about Erika Chase’s series – if anyone has read it? I would like some feedback on it. I also have Victoria Hamilton’s book in my to be read pile. I am getting ready to put in my winter order for Amazon.com so can get the new books when they come out. I place two big orders a year of authors I really like so can get the newest one in each series. Check your email for a note that you might want to post before June 1st regarding Midsommer Murders to pbs.

Alfred, all four of these authors are new-to-me authors, so I can’t comment on any of them.
(I’ll take a look at my email.)
ginger says
Alfred I read the Erika Chase’s book. I really enjoyed it.
It keeps you interested and I did not know who did it until the end. I cannot wait for the next one.
Margaret says
I receive e-mail updates from Berkley Prime Crime Publishing (it seems alot of the Authors I read are published by them) and I had seen the Erika Chase books listed. I did order them but have not read them yet. Again that cover art drew me in. The two beautiful Siamese Cats really caught my eye. Erika “Linda Wiken” Chase has Siamese cats who she based her fictional cats on. My close friends and I have always had Siamese or Balinese Cats so I thought how bad can she be and why not give it a shot!
Although I found they are already on your site, they are new to me “B. B. Haywood” who, I believe is Beth and Robert Feeman, have a Blueberry Acres Series out with three books.
I chose to buy this series because it is set in a fictional town in Maine based on the real town this husband and wife duo live. I like when authors write about what they really know. It adds that realism I enjoy and I love visiting Maine.
I cannot wait to get into both of these “new to me ” series!

Thanks for the info, Margaret. When I add new authors to the site, I read through their websites and do Google searches on them. I try to add a little bit of information to their alphabetical page.
I enjoy it when authors write about “what they really know” also. You can usually pick up when they don’t.
Chrystle Fiedler says
Thanks for mentioning me and my new book Death Drops! I appreciate the shout-out and hope your followers enjoy it. BTW the sequel Scent to Kill with an aromatherapy theme will be published next April. Thanks again! Chrystle
Danna - cozy mystery list says
You’re quite welcome, Chrystle. I have added Scent to Kill to my April 2013 list of Mystery Book New Releases.
Dru says
Alfred, I read all four of the books and they were enjoyable.
Petie says
Will definitely have to check out Erika Chase & her Siamese cats. As soon as I saw that, I thought of Lilian Jackson Braun’s CAT WHO mysteries. I love those cozy cat mysteries!

I know, Petie, I also love the book cover of Erika Chase’s A Killer Read.

Danna, I’m back after a great week in CO. During that time I gave my Nook a workout. I re-read Anne George’s Southern sisters series. Thanks to your tip that they were on the Nook. I began at the beginning and read them in order, only to find out that I had not downloaded book #3. My grandaughter downloaded it without a computer; the younger generation is so computer literate. Now I want to finish the series but I also have Katherine Hall Pages’ new book waiting for me. Woe is me.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Regina, I hope your trip to Colorado was fun, fun, fun. This time of year is so beautiful out there. It sounds like you did a whole lot of reading!
Isn’t it something how computer/techno savvy young people are today. When my children were in high school, they would have to help me with my computer skills. They were like ducks in water…

Have you ever thought about adding a category where they hero is a bad guy? I’m just finishing Lawrence Block’s Bernie Rhodenbarr’s series ( a very likeable burglar) and I loved them! I can think of a few others just now – such as Mary Anna Evans’ Faye Longchamp who in the first few books dug for artifacts to sell on the black market to keep her crumbling plantation house from falling down. Also, Lee Child’s Jack Reacher (definitely NOT a cozy). I would like to find more in this category and I can’t – but I’m sure there are some. I get tired of the goody-goody heros and these are exciting and refreshing – something different! Anyway, just a suggestion – and I could just click on this category and there they would all be!
Angela says
Linda,
Hailey Lind (aka Juliet Blackwell) writes the art lovers series. Her main character is the granddaughter of an international art forger and while she’s “gone good” she has a past as an art forger that haunts her. Meanwhile her frequent sidekick is an art thief and her art forging grandpa and his friends make appearances often as well. There’s only 4 books in the series now but I am hopeful she’ll write more. Might be one you’d like to check out as part of your “bad guy” idea 🙂
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Angela, thanks for adding Hailey Lind‘s Art Lover’s Mystery Series to Linda’s list of “hero as the bad guy” sleuths!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
No, actually, Linda, I haven’t thought about this category. But, I’ll think about it now!
Andie says
I read Victoria Hamilton’s A Deadly Grind and was especially charmed because, like the heroine, I collect vintage kitchen stuff.
I thought the story was clever and well thought out. The plot was twisty and believable and I lost myself in it. I really could not put it down (except for necessary breaks) until I finished it and then immediately wrote a review on Amazon. I subscribed to her blog and wrote a comment about how much I enjoyed the book.
I predict this series is going to be a winner.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Andie, I thought about you immediately when I saw the description of Victoria Hamilton’s Vintage Kitchen Mystery Series. (I’m serious!)
Victoria Hamilton says
I’m so excited to have a mention here, one of my ‘go to’ sites to find new mystery writers! Hope everyone enjoys A Deadly Grind, the first of my series, Vintage Kitchen Mysteries!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome to the site, Victoria!
Ann says
Thanks for the list. I just finished reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley and I believe it could be considered a cozy mystery. It was a delightful story of a young girl in 1950s England. I think all mystery readers would love it.
Ann

Ann, thanks for telling us about your enjoyment of Alan Bradley‘s Flavia de Luce Mystery Series.
Regina says
Danna, I just finished “The Body in the Boudoir”. Another great book by Katherine Hall Page. It had a totally unexpected ending which I enjoyed. I want to say never read this book if you are hungry as the food descriptions make your mouth water. As a Bostonian, I was a little perturbed by her aspersions on my home city. They were all in good fun.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Regina, I know! You need a lot of will power if you read any of the Faith Fairchild Mystery Series while on a diet!
Thanks for telling us about your enjoyment of Katherine Hall Page’s mysteries.
Marie Moore says
Danna, I was thrilled to find my name and my debut mystery, Shore Excursion, listed on your terrific site! I have been on a book tour and just learned of the super listing today! I so hope that you and your readers will enjoy my book. I am getting great feed-back from those who have read it. Shore Excursion is the first in the new Sidney Marsh Murder Mystery Series, featuring Sidney, a young Mississippi-born, New York-based travel agent. The next in the series, Game Drive should be released by the end of 2012. More info on me, Sidney, and future books in this series on my website http://www.mariemooremysteries.com. Thanks so so much!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marie, good luck on your debut mystery, Shore Excursion!
