Cozy covers are my favourite. They can be so artsy and funny at the same time.

I’m eagerly awaiting the release of “Premeditated Peppermint”…I recently read the first two books in the Amish Candy Shop series and loved them!

I’m looking forward to the new Magic Garden Mystery Series. I think the premise is interesting, and I like the other books by Amanda Flower that I’ve read so far.

Both “Death Over Easy” and “Murder at Ochre Court” are part of series on my wish list.

So many good cozies…not enough time. 🙂

As always Danna, thank you for keeping us informed of all this cozy news. It’s very much appreciated!

Melanie, you’re very welcome – and this does look like a very good lineup, doesn’t it!

This week I read Leigh Hearon’s books Reining in Murder and Saddle Up for Murder. I really enjoyed this new series. Annie is a really get horse woman and body finder and solver of crimes. Her former school mate the sheriff does not appreciate her skills so does not listen as he should. Her half sister is a thorn in her side. But all makes for great mystery and leads to wonderful friendships. I highly recommend both. Enjoy.

Yep…I’ve added the Mack’s Bar series to my must have! It already has a page in my computer file, and an index card in my “quick reference” pile. LOL, I’m a little bit over-organized!

Bek, organization is always good in my mind! It’s the reason I started the list that eventually grew into the site in the first place.

When you have as many books as we so (from reading your posts, I know you have some of the same issues I do), you must be organized. I don’t know how people who are not super organized with their books can ever find the one they want.

Tell me about it! I have about 600 books. And I only keep the ones that I like well enough to re-read more than once. My records are very well organized, but I keep moving books around as I get more shelf space for them. Eventually, I’ll have it in the order I want it! I’m running a small library. And yes, I lend to very reliable people, and there is a “check out” system in place!

Bek, I am also very restrictive about who I will loan books. Currently just my sister and one niece (the poor person who will eventually have to deal with this whole collection). Since I currently have over 1000 print books on my to be read list and we won’t even talk about the ones I have read, I am planning on having a purge party after I retire next year. It will be very hard, since like you, I only keep the ones I want to reread, but I have a favorite group to which I donate. I may also take some of the in for possible buy-back at my favorite used book stores.

One thing I have found is that if I buy only paperbacks, I can get an extra shelf in every bookcase. I did have to find a handyman who could cut and stain them to match what I have, but since each shelf holds about 30 books, it was worth it.

I buy paperbacks, as well. You can just flat get more books per shelf that way. Well, let me clarify that. There are a VERY FEW books that I actually buy in hardback, simply because…well…they are “special.” LOL, Outlander” series is in hardback, and I’m beginning to replace my lost “Dune” series in hardback. The stories seem to require it.

I’m not sure what will happen to my books when I am no longer here. Neither of my sons would want them. Currently, my thought is that they will go to a neighbor who loves books and reading, with the caveat that anything she doesn’t want will be donated to a nursing home or women’s shelter.

~chuckles softly~ I have a vivid mental picture of the two of us curled up, each on one end of a comfy sofa, before a fire, sipping something hot and reading for hours, totally content, never feeling as if we MUST converse, but never feeling alone, either. It is the blessing of those who read.

Absolutely! I found a picture of two little old ladies, hiding under a table with their books and cups of something steamy. I had to send it to my sister with the heading ‘Us, in 10 years’. She was with my niece when she opened my e-mail. My niece accused me of trying to kill her mom with laugher – I guess she literally fell off her chair.

Whatever my niece does not want, she is free to sell, or donate to a book charity that we have both volunteered with in the past, and will again in the future (as soon as life settles down again).

And Hello to you new friend.

I think we need Cozycon. Like Comicon or even Bookcon (a real event in NY). It would have to rotate around the country to real sites where cozies are set. That way, we can see the places our favorite characters call home, see all our new friends and maybe even talk with our favorite authors. It would be nice if the publishers would show up so we could tell them off when they decide not to continue a series.

OOOOOOOOH! That’s one Con I’d manage, if I had to hitchhike to get there! What a lovely idea, and rest assured, I shall be dreaming of it now.

Margaret, there’s always something comforting about a good period piece. And I hope that the Amanda Flowers releases are both good as well!

Thank you for featuring the cover of my new mystery Murder, She Reported, coming on July 31. Just an FYI–this is book #1 in a series. There will be at least two more and hopefully more after that! The book is set in 1930s NYC and features Elizabeth “Biz” Adams, debutante turned crime photographer.
