OK, Careless Whiskers and Buried to the Brim were already on my list.
Looks like I need gift cards for Christmas or to ask for the books knowing they will come after the holidays. I have no problem with someone sending me a screenshot of an order if the book has not been released yet. Of course, they are also late enough in January to ask for them for Valentines day….
I am so lucky that my sweet husband likes books, and has no problem adding to my collection, even when I clearly do not need more.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susy, that certainly sounds like an interesting solution for people looking to get you Christmas gifts.

Suzy S, I have often stated, both online and off, that I need another book like a need a hole in the head!
Also, if I walk by a bookstore, it is because I do not have enough to walk IN to buy a book.
Oh, but make no mistake, the desire to buy a book is always there; actually, more than one, but I digress.
Susy S says
I suspect many of us ‘suffer’ from that same addiction. I have no desire to be cured either.
Bek says
I’m with you! I’ve finally convinced Spawn 2 (my younger son) that a gift certificate for Thriftbooks is NOT “impersonal.” It’s the gift of infinite possibilities!
thetarotman says
I have a client who has given me Barnes & Noble Booksellers gift cards as either a Holiday gift or a Birthday gift. You can imagine my displeasure when he does not give me one as a gift
He has been using my Psychic Services for more than twenty-five years, and has become a good friend, over the years, too, but part of me looks at him like, “What? No git card from the B & N?!”
But I digress.
Susy S says
My in-laws think much like your son, so I give them a list each year. Since they are more than comfortable, I usually get all the books I ask for, but I don’t abuse it with too many books. I usually give them a list where the books total about the same amount we spend on each of them.
thetarotman says
Clearly, I have had the “Cat in the Stacks” Mystery Series on my “to read” for way too long!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Tarot, that’s not a surprise – there are many people looking forward to that one I’m sure!
thetarotman says
In most of my online bios, such as Twitter and Instagram, I usually mention, “I love cats, coffee, and hairy men, just not at the same time!”
Of course, I love books, which is yet another reason why I love your blog so much!
And since I AM going away for a few days a few days from now, I shall have the opportunity to engage in reading a lot, and catching up on some of the other books I AM reading, at the present time.
Bek says
What fun! THREE this time, “Coconut Layer Cake Murder,” “Careless Whiskers,” AND “On the Lamb!” Can’t wait till they are actually out!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, yes, this is a particularly good set of covers… though admittedly most of them are unfortunately far out.
Bek says
Oh, not complaining about that! Gives me time to plan and budget. AND all the books are already in my AllMyBooks program, so I could get them listed!
thetarotman says
Bek, what is AllMyBooks? Is that an app? Or is that something else?
Regardless, it sounds like something I just might need!
Bek says
It’s a downloadable, and pretty affordable, program for tracking home libraries. You can look it up and look it over by googling that name. You can track what you have, what you have read, a wish list, as well as books you have loaned out. My only issue with it is that the lookup function doesn’t tell you the format, so you might have to go back and correct that by hand, which is easy enough to do.
Susy S says
I like Joanne Fluke, but I am so far behind on her books that I can wait to get it in paperback. That takes SOME strain off the budget.
Carol says
Thanks, Danna. I’m very happy to see Jenn McKinlay’s Hat Shop Mystery series isn’t over!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Carol, you’re welcome! And as always, I’m also glad to see a series continuing.
