I’ll be writing a longer entry on Monday, but thought I would quickly write to say that I’m having a fantastic time. (More on that after the weekend…)
I am listening to the first book of the E. F. Benson Mapp and Lucia NON mystery series… Queen Lucia (narrated by Nadia May) and I am absolutely loving it! I know that I have raved about this particular NON mystery series many times before, but I must warn you that it is somewhat dated… having been written in the early 1920s. As I’ve said before, E. F. Benson‘s series is the only series that I have read several times (and plan on reading even more times in the future!) and each time I read it (or in this case listen to it) I discover new things.
Must go… Will write later...

Danna: Did you ever watch the British TV series of “Mapp and Lucia”? Wonderful! It starred Geraldine McEwan and Prunella Scales. Series 1 and 2 are on DVD. Geraldine McEwan recently starred in the “Miss Marple” remake (series 1-3), so there is a mystery connection (sort of).

Laura,
That is how I discovered E. F. Benson. I wrote an entry about the Mapp and Lucia Masterpiece Theatre series. I absolutely LOVED it… and have since been a Geraldine McEwan, Prunella Scales, and E. F. Benson fan. (Of course, I loved Scales in Fawlty Towers… She was so absolutely perfect for the part!)

Dear Danna,
by chance I found your blog – and being a lover of detective novels (books and tv), though I know many of those you quoted, I am always happy to find something new – thank you!
(By the way: if you look under http://www.youarewittyandpretty.blogspot.com you’ll find a post on E.F.Benson – if you prefer gardens: http://www.gardeninginhighheels.blogspot.com
Have a nice day! Britta
