I found your site several months ago and just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it. Thanks for the new book lists every month. I always make sure I have my favorites from it in a small notebook so when I go to the bookstore or shop online it’s right there. My TBR pile seems to getting bigger these days. Looking forward to Thanksgiving Break (first grade teacher) so I can work on my pile. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Reading!

Welcome to the site, Denise! I know that a lot of people like the heads-up mystery book release entries so that they can request them from their libraries before the rush…
You know, I still carry memories of my first grade teacher with me. She was a tremendous lady! I’m guessing that she also looked forward to Thanksgiving Break! I hope you get a lot of Cozy Mystery reading done during your break…Our local schools get a whole week off, which is a new thing around here. (They used to only get two days.)

I absolutely love this website! Thanks so much for listing the upcoming releases…it’s so helpful when making my list of future reads. I love reading books and I love this site!!!
Denise says
Thanks! We get off Wednesday thru Friday. It is a welcomed break we started August 1 ( I work in one of three schools in my district where the students go 200 days and teachers work 210) and no real breaks until Thanksgiving. Hopefully the books I requested will come in at the library -if not there’s that TBR pile with my name on it.

I wasn’t sure where to post this; sorry if it is the wrong part of the blog. I was looking at the list of mysteries by THEME, & one of my most favorite is the religious, priests, Brothers, Sisters, ministers, etc. And the subset, CHOIR MYSTERIES. I would highly recommend the book recently released by Gregory Maguire, “THE NEXT QUEEN OF HEAVEN” which is a sort of mystery. Apropos of the discussion on the other portion of the blog, WARNING: THIS BOOK DOES MAKE USE OF PROFANITY, (especially in the beginning) which I normally detest. But I was forewarned about that, and gritted my teeth, and enjoyed it immensely. Parts of it are humorous, & it culminates at Christmas in a wild & funny scene.
The author originally wrote it last year for Concord Free Press, which publishes books one at a time, and at first makes only a few thousand available for FREE to independent bookstores only, asking people who get these books to make any size contribution to any charity of their choice (it can be just a neighbor in need, or a beggar on the street), & then pass the book along. No more of the Maguire books are available that way, but a few weeks ago it was re-published commercially.

Danna, like all the rest of the folks I love the new book list, each month. The only thing I have to ask about is you have a new book by Elizabeth Goddard, but she is not on your list of authors. Is this her first or has she written others I would like to find her books and add to my TBR pile.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Hi Rebecca,
I don’t actually have a separate page for Elizabeth Goddard. I have her listed in the Hometown Mystery Series page and the Heartsong Presents Mysteries page.

My new book “Faux Finish” came out in December 10. It is a cozy mystery, second in the Molly May series, with a Christmas-time setting.
