Hello, I have read some 42 books this year for Goodreads reviews; some on Bookbub, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, and most of them were interesting enough for me to see them through.
I review books as a hobby like most things that I do is a hobby with me.
I wanted to share one read not yet submitted for my review; it is
Murder in the Manor (A Lacey Doyle Cozy Mystery) by Fiona Grace and I can honestly say it has been a fabulous reading throughout. It is fast and easy to read in one sitting; it took me one week or so to finish it. It is exemplary writing and also unbelievable; what do I mean: Lacey gets her divorce papers and after putting her John Hancock on them, she decides to pack up her bags and move to Wilfordshire, England –Wilfordshire is exactly what Lacey needs… with its ageless architecture, cobblestone streets, and nature at her doorstep. Once she’s made her way there, she rents a small cottage and ends up applying for a two-year visa because she’s opened an antique business and it is from that business that she encounters her very first murder and must solve it to prove her innocence.
This book reads like it is too good to be true but when Lacy is suspected of murder and everyone in the town turns against her, and then her good luck seems to be dwindling. With the help of Tom Forrester and her next-door neighbor at home, who’s helped around her shop when Lacey is out investigating…etc. Anyhow, Lacey does solve the murder and is happy with where her life is heading.
I can’t say enough about how I enjoyed this book; her spending in Wilfordshire to have this dream of a life that Lacey had wanted all along has come true but who has that kind of money to simply pack up and go.
I did start another book series by Fiona Grace but after the first few pages, I am doubtful of it being good yet, I did jump on to another perhaps too soon; so it is aside for now.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
