I have a few pieces of good news regarding established site authors!
First, Joyce Tremel will be starting a new mystery series, the Cider House Mystery Series. The first entry, Deadly to the Core, will introduce the sleuth, a woman inheriting an orchard. Tremel is already the author of the Brewing Trouble Mystery Series, which stars a brewmaster and brew house owner in Pittsburgh.
G. M. Malliet will be writing a new entry in her Max Tudor Mystery Series, titled The Washing Away of Wrongs, which will be a return to this series after at least four years (the last release was in 2018). Malliet is also the author of the St. Just Mystery Series.

One of my all time favorite series is the Max Tudor series. Very good news! Thanks for the heads up! Also, the new set of McDonald and Dodds is set to start on Acorn this month.

Susan, thanks for sharing that – I’m sure I’ll be tuning in on that one soon!

This is fantastic! I cannot wait to dive into these books.

Fiona, I’m glad to be able to share good news!

I just viewed some of the reviews for the Max Tudor series, and yikes, were they uncomplimentary! I would love to hear if anyone here has read them–they sound fun, but not if those other reviews are anything to go by!

Mary, I don’t know if this holds any weight for you, but I do know that Malliet has been nominated for multiple novels in the series for the Agatha Awards Best Novel category.

The Max Tudor series is different, but not weirdly so. Max is a very interesting character, a reformed spy turned C of E priest who can’t let go of the snooping. It’s somewhat of a village mystery series but drier than a cozy. I would read them in order, to get the full development of Max’s issues and choices. As with any series, some of the books are great, some just so-so. But the series on the whole is quite good.
Mary says
It does! Happy to hear something positive about the series. Going to put it in my TBR pile! Thanks so much! 🙂

There’s a new novel in the Miss Fortune mystery series by Jana DeLeon out now, and the audio version will be released 3 months later. I found out through the author’s Facebook page. (Just getting back on to social media after taking a rather extended vacation from it.) and while not I found out it was pretty much the same stuff different day, I did come across this little gem of good news from author Jana DeLeon.
There will be a new novel in her Miss Fortune series, titled Swamp Spirits! According to the post, this time, Fortune’s CIA partner, Harrison will even have a part in this one this time! The book is out now, according to Goodreads, and according to the post, the audio version will be here in 3 months!
Needless to say, this book is on my Want to read shelf on Goodreads! I plan on getting the audio version when it’s released on Audible. I think that Cassandra Campbell does an absolutely fantastic job narrating these books! She narrates the matical cats series by Sofie Kelly as well, and she has done an awesome job with that one as well in my opinion! 🙂 I’m somewhat picky and choosey about the narrators I listen to. Both commercially speaking, as well as from the National Library service for the blind and print disabled, the accessible book library run by the Library of congress in the United States. Anyway, I just thought I’d pop in and share some good news of my own! 🙂

Dawn, thanks – I’ll have to update her page!

Thanks for posting about the upcoming Cider House Mystery.
I also write a historical cozy series–the Homefront News Mysteries under my pen name, Joyce St. Anthony. The first, Front Page Murder was published in March 2022 and the second, Death on a Deadline came out on November 8th. The books are set in a small Pennsylvania town in 1942. My main character is in charge of her father’s newspaper while he’s overseas.

Joyce, thanks for letting me know – I’ve added this to your author page! And thanks for writing Cozies!
Susan says
I just finished Front Page Murder! Intrepid reporter who also runs the smalltown paper during WW2 confronts anti-Semitism and unexplained ‘accidents’ at factory producing bolts for military uses. I enjoyed it quite a bit. A definite cozy but not twee. I look forward to reading the second installment.

Thank you!
