I don’t know where the time goes! I have been meaning to write an entry telling you about the following Cozy Mystery news tidbits, but for some reason, I keep getting side-tracked! So, I’m going to hurry up and tell you about these good-to-hear pieces of Cozy Mystery news. (I’m not going to alphabetize the authors’ name – this time I’m going to write my entry the way my mind works >>> tangent upon tangent!)
Here’s some terrific hot-weather news! Lucy Burdette (aka Roberta Isleib) is going to be writing at least two more Key West Food Critic mysteries! Hayley Snow will be critiquing food down in Key West, with a side of solving crimes. I told you this was terrific news – regardless of the weather!
I’m going to follow the news about hot-weather places/events by telling you that after Vickie Fee‘s Fourth of July Cozy is published (One Fete in the Grave), there will be a fourth Li & Di in Dixie mystery in this series that features Liv McKay, a crime-solving party planner in Dixie, Tennessee.
Staying with the hot-weather theme, I want to be sure you all know that Ellen Byron won the Lefty Award’s Best Humorous Mystery Novel for Body on the Bayou, the second in her Cajun Country Mystery Series. While I’m telling you about Ellen Byron, don’t let me forget that her third book in the series is a Christmas-themed Cozy Cajun (A Cajun Christmas Killing).
Which brings me to the other 2017 Lefty Award Winners:
Catriona McPherson won the Lefty Award for the Best Historical Mystery Novel – Dandy Gilver and the Reek of Red Herrings
Alexia Gordon won the Lefty Award for the Best Debut Mystery Novel – Murder in G Major
Louise Penny won the Lefty Award for the Best Mystery Novel – A Great Reckoning
And, here’s some more great news: Nancy Coco (aka Nancy J. Parra & Nell Hampton) will be releasing Oh, Fudge! in August of this year, which those of you who have visited my Soon to be Released Mysteries page already know. However, the really great news is that there will be at least two more Cozies in her Candy-Coated Mystery Series after this sixth one is released!
Now here’s some great news for Cozy Mystery readers who enjoy crafting! Mollie Cozy Bryan will be releasing her third book (Macramé Murder) which will be followed by a fourth book in her Cora Crafts Mystery Series. This fourth Cozy will be about a retreat for the mothers of children who have just returned back to school after spending their summers at home.
For those of us who are looking forward to Cynthia Riggs‘ 13th book in her Vineyard Mystery Series (Trumpet of Death), you’ll be happy to know that Victoria Trumbull will not be slowing down her crime-solving. Yes, this senior sleuth will be back in a 14th book!
Tonya Kappes, author of the Ghostly Southern Mystery Series as well as several other Cozy Mystery series, will be writing a new series called the Southern Baking Mystery Series. The starring sleuth will be a pastry chef who goes back home to make the wedding cake for her best friend. Oh, oh, that may mean that the wedding doesn’t go quite as expected!
Carole Buggé, the author of the Claire Rawlings Mystery Series has just signed a contract to start a new mystery series. She will be writing a series that focuses on a Jane Austen society that makes its home in a small, Cozy British village. The first book is slated to be called Pride and Prejudice and Poison.
Yow! That’s a whole lot of Cozy Mystery news!

For those who – like me – don’t have a clue: Lefty Awards. The annual Left Coast Crime “Lefty” Awards are chosen by registered members of each Left Coast Crime convention. (I thought it might be left-handed authors or protagonists! Lol! Though the latter would certainly make for interesting.)
The awards can be found here: http://www.leftcoastcrime.org/LeftyAwards.html

Well, all. Here is a new one by Miranda James in the Cat in the Stacks mystery series. The Twelve Angry Librarians. I haven’t read it yet but just picked it up. Looking forward to this newest edition with Charlie Harris and Diesel. Looks to be as entertaining as the others by this talented author and for those of you that love cats, Diesel is a Maine Coon cat with tons of personality. And Ms. James has created a spin off with two Southern ladies that are sisters that solve their own mysteries that are friends of Charilie and Company. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
