Upcoming Mysteries on Turner Classic Movies for November 2020

October 28, 2020

I finally came to the realization that I really, really like Halloween-type B movies! During October I have been getting my fill of a whole lot of “scary” movies from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. Mummies, bats, vampires, mad scientists… I just couldn’t get enough! I mean, before coming to this B-movie realization, I liked these movies, but I didn’t realize how much I look forward to October! But, now that it’s November, I’m going to have to wean myself off of those movies, and get back to my mystery movies.

Wow-zee! November’s theme must be Film Noirs! I’m delighted to tell you there will be (more than!) several film noir movies sprinkled throughout the month. So you don’t have to just wait until Eddie Muller’s Noir Alley weekly showings!

Here’s another highlight from this month on the Turner Classic Movies channel: director Alfred Hitchcock’s mystery movies will be featured starting the evening of November 26 (Thursday) and will continue through most of the 27th. Now that’s something to look forward to! Most of us have probably seen these movies countless times before, which is a testament to how good they are.

This month I have used the Eastern time zone on the Turner Classic Movies schedule. So, rather than Eddie Muller’s Noir Alley airing late Saturday night, it will be airing extremely early on Sunday morning on this eastern time zone. Actually, both of the airings of his monthly pick will be shown on Sunday morning on this eastern time zone schedule. I never miss his picks, and am especially grateful for his introductions and comments after the movies. He’s very detailed.

Upcoming Television Mystery Movies for October 2020

September 19, 2020

As it is almost October 2020, I thought I would post the Turner Classic Movies channel’s October mystery movies today. I don’t know if other people have been so struck by this, but it seems to me that TCM is moving toward presenting more “current” movies these days. (when I say “current” I mean movies from the 1960s and 1970s.) I’ve been a fan of the channel for many years, and I don’t remember a time when the Golden Era of Hollywood was not the main focus of the channel’s movies. Hmmm… Have any of you noticed this, too? And if so, what do you think about it?

On another note, since it’s October, Turner Classic Movies is going to be showing a lot of “Halloweeny” type movies. So, if you love the old Bela Lugosi, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr., Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Vincent Price (etc.) movies, then you’re in for a treat this month! (I’m not going to list them, but be sure to be on the lookout for them – if you enjoy them. I watch the same “Halloweeny” type movies year after year… I never get tired of them!) Also, while I’m not talking about movies that happen to be mysteries – for those of you who enjoy the old Dr. Kildare movies, Turner Classic Movies will be airing five of them on Wednesday the 21st of October.

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel Cozy Mystery Movies – September 2020

September 1, 2020

September is here! I’m putting together this blog entry on a day in August when the temperature here in San Antonio is scheduled to hit 105° so it’s hard to believe September is already here! I hope this finds you ALL safe and well.

Making up the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel’s monthly Cozy Mystery movie blog entries has become sort of odd for me. Since the channel hasn’t shown anything new for the last few months, I guess this entry is for people who either missed the movies when they aired before OR for people who enjoy re-watching the movies. (I read somewhere that Candace Cameron Bure and Marilu Henner have been quarantining in Canada so they could start working on new Aurora Teagarden movies – so here’s hoping there will soon be a few premieres!)

This month the channel will be showing the following shows during the day: Magnum P.I., Matlock, Perry Mason, Diagnosis Murder, Monk, Good Witch, and Murder, She Wrote. Here are the Cozy Mystery movies they will be airing this month:
