I sure enjoyed reading your responses to my Turner Classic Movies entry. I sometimes wonder if Robert Osbourne no longer being “the face” of the channel is what is driving them to add newer movies. (I sure do miss him!) I have an old recording device (a Sage) on which I still have a lot of movies that he introduced – and I always enjoy seeing his introductions.

This month the channel is doing a whole lot of diverse themes which has sort of cut down on the mystery movies they will be showing. However, there are still some pretty good ones coming up. The 1934 Alfred Hitchcock “The Man Who Knew Too Much” is playing on Saturday, April 23. Most of us are pretty familiar with the 1956 version that starred Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day.

Oh, and for all of you who are fans of the Perry Mason television series, Barbara Hale (aka the absolute best Della Street actress of all time!) will be in the 1949 non-Perry movie “The Window” on April 24.

It’s already March! It seems like it was just 2021, and here we are – already getting ready for spring, although I know that feels like we’re a long distance from that – for those of you who have been experiencing unusually cold winters.

I always find the months with no premieres on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel “difficult” to write about. I know that a lot of us look forward to new mystery movies – and that it’s always a drag (I’m sure that expression dates me!) to find out there are no new mysteries during the month. Well, that’s happening this month — unless they air a premiere mystery movie the last week of March. Hopefully the channel will make that information available soon. It looks like they are adding Friday to their Thursday romantic movies schedule. I liked it when they reserved the romantic movies for their other Hallmark channels… not so anymore!

I have left several days and/or time slots empty. The channel will be showing a lot of love-themed movies again this month. Since this is the Cozy Mystery site, I’m not listing them…

I was pretty excited when I started compiling the March 2022 Turner Classic Movies (TCM) mystery movie list. The first two days of the March schedule were exactly what I like to find: lots and lots of mystery movies! I have seen many of them, however if there’s a movie that I particularly enjoy seeing, I occasionally find myself DVR-ing it so that I can watch it again! I’m back to my needlework projects, so I enjoy watching the movies in the background.

TCM has added a lot of “more modern” (i.e. movies after the mid 1950s) – I am pretty selective about those mystery movies. I much prefer movies that used to be on the three main networks late, late at night – movies from the 1930s and 1940s. Hmmm… I wonder how many of you prefer those old-time movies…

The good news is that the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel will be featuring two premieres during February 2022. That’s right, two NEW Cozy Mystery movies this month! One of the premieres is a part of the Aurora Teagarden series and I’m hoping the other premiere is the beginning of a new mystery movie series. I’m not sure whether it will be, since the channel is being pretty guarded about this information…

As for the first premiere, it will be on Sunday, February 6. The name of the movie is Cut, Color, Murder and I’m sure hoping it’s the beginning of the Beauty Shop mysteries series! Julie Gonzalo will be playing a hairdresser and Ryan McPartlin will be the awesome new detective. (Remember him from the television series “Chuck” – playing Captain Awesome?)

The second Cozy Mystery movie premiere will be the much-awaited NEW Aurora Teagarden mystery: Haunted by Murder. Candace Cameron Bure returns as Aurora – doing what Aurora does best! Haunted by Murder will premiere on Sunday, February 20.

I have left several days and/or time slots empty. The channel will be showing a lot of love-themed movies this Valentine’s Day month. Since this is the Cozy Mystery site, I’m not listing them…
