Collette says
Who is that lady writer who writes about the tea shop she owns?
Gail says
Laura Childs
Mary says
Are you talking about the new series by Guideposts?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Mary, I’m guessing it’s not that series, since it just started and Collette asked about this series way back in 2009…
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Hi Collette,
I am guessing that you are thinking of Laura Childs. She writes the Tea Shop (Theodosia Browning) Mystery Series which features a Charleston Tea Room Owner.
Sue says
E.J. Copperman has a new series about a haunted guest house. The first book in the series, “Night of the Living Deed,” will be out in June.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks for telling us about Night of the Living Deed, Sue.
S. Nevin says
Author – Maeve Binchy is not necessarily a cozy writer, but definitely produces good stories and wonderfully drawn characters without resorting to explicit sex and profanity.
Some of her books: Tara Road, Evening Class, Quentins, Scarlett Feather, The Copper Beech, Whitethorn Woods, Night of Rain and Stars, Silver Wedding, The Lilac Bus, Light a Penny Candle, Heart and Soul and many others.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks, S., for mentioning Maeve Binchy. She already has a page on the Cozy site, although I do tell readers she doesn’t write mysteries. But, I see from your list that I have to update her page.
Thanks, again…
Traci says
Thank you for this website !!! I use it regularly to find new authors !!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome, Traci! I’m glad you found us…
Leslie says
Hi. I know this is a long shot, but I’m trying to find a series of mysteries that I read a few years back. I remember that the lead character ran her own bread and breakfast. There was also a guy that lived on her property who helped her solve her cases.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Leslie, I just posted your question on today’s entry. Hopefully someone can come up with the author who you are looking for…
Amanda says
Leslie, I believe its the ” Gray Whale Inn” Series By Karen MacInerney. they take place at a bed and breakfast called the “Gray Whale Inn” in Maine and the guy lives in the guest house out back – who is a police officer and her maintenance man.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Amanda, thank you for the information about the Gray Whale Inn. I love it when someone comes up with answers…
mk says
I am looking for a series of books about an innkeeper in Scotland. They are very similar to the Goodhind series but the locale is different and the ghost is more active.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
mk, I sure hope that someone is able to come up with the Scottish innkeeper ghost-themed mystery series you are looking for…
Judy says
Hi Danna and all I keep looking at your site every day now and thought I would tell you about a GREAT TRILOGY [not mysteries but DEFINITELY COZY] called LADYBUG FARM. 3 BOOKS IN ALL BY DONNA BALL AND I HAVE READ THEM ALL SEVERAL TIMES – about 3 friends who buy a decrepit old house and restore it. A FANTASTIC SERIES and because I LOVE OLD HOUSES IT WAS PERFECT so give them a try – well worth it. I WILL KEEP CHECKING regularly for new authors. take care judy
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks, Judy, for telling us about Donna Ball‘s non-mystery cozy, the Ladybug Farm trilogy. When I was looking this up (to see if the two Donna Balls are one and the same – which “they” are), I found that she released her fourth Raine Stockton Dog Mystery in e-form a few months ago…
Traci says
Maeve Binchy passed away I will miss her charming books…
Dusty says
There is a series set at an inn (Rose something). The owner is a widow, male friend is a gardener/handyman with whom she is at odds most of the time. Think it’s set in NW, but not sure. Can’t remember characters or author’s names.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Dusty, could you possibly be thinking of the non-mystery series Cedar Cove by Debbie Macomber?
Irene B says
It’s Debbie Macomber, but not Ceder Cove series. It’s Rose Inn series.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Irene B, thanks! This will actually help Dusty, rather than the one I suggested! Thanks, again.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Irene B, thanks!
ellie says
does anyone know the name of a book about a lady who opens up a B&B and has problems with a couple of the neighbors and a judge makes the form a bookclub and they end up solving the murder of a Chinese cook who loved his chicken plus they become friends? I loved this book but i cant remember the name
Janice says
That book is the first in the League of Literary Ladies series by Kylie Logan – a fun series.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Janice, thank you so much for coming to Ellie’s aid!
Pegg says
I’m trying to remember an author whose books are set in an old monastery. The small group of residents have relocated to another site nearby and sometimes visit the new owners of their former home.
New owners are former professionals in the business world back east, (a man and wife).
In the front lawn of the house, someone places a goose, dresses it in various costumes. One book featured a big celebratory hot air balloon episode.
Not much to go on but maybe I didn’t dream the whole thing.
Thanks,
Peggy
Julie says
Does anyone know the author of the book series with a single mom of 2 young boys (I believe that the boys are twins) and she is the
manager of a book themed resort?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Julie, I’m not sure, but this could be the Book Retreat Mystery Series by Ellery Adams.
Connie says
Yes just read them all
Austin Edwards says
Kate Kingsbury also has a bed-and-breakfast series called Merry Ghost Inn. I didn’t see it on this post but found it on Kingsbury’s page on this site.
Vicki L. Weavil says
Victoria Gilbert’s Booklover’s B&B series — Booked for Death (2020) and Reserved for Murder (2021) — take place at a bed-and-breakfast in Beaufort, NC.
Karen S. says
Hoping you can help me remember a series, I believe is set in a mansion turned into a hotel and museum owned by an elderly gentleman with a stepdaughter who visits when she needs money. In the first book the manager is murdered and his young female assistant is promoted to the position, she solves the murders in the series. There is a long-time assistant to the owner who doesn’t get along with the new manager until much later in the series after they work together solving the various murders. I can’t remember any of the characters’ names or the author, just that I enjoyed the series several years ago and would like to find out if there are additional books.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karen, I’m sorry about the lateness of this reply – I couldn’t come up with an answer to your question, but I have posed it as part of a front-of-blog post to try to see if someone else might have a solution.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karen, if you are still looking for the answer to this, numerous readers have suggested it is likely the Manor House Mystery Series by Julie Hyzy.
Karen S. says
Yes I actually managed to figure it out on my own recently. I’m not sure about the “Manor House” name, I always called it the “Grace” series by Hyzy. Thanks for the reply!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karen, you’re welcome, though I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get you the answer sooner – I’m glad you were able to figure it out!
Annie says
Please help me find a series. I believe it is a grandmother that owns a B and B and her granddaughter runs a tea room next to it. They are on a cliff next to the ocean and in the first book a man falls over the gate to the stairs that go down to the beach. There is also a spa nearby that has been there for years for the rich and famous. The owner of the spa keeps trying to buy the grandmother’s land and she won’t sell.
Thank you.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Annie, I’m not sure, but this might be Vicki Delany‘s Tea by the Sea Mystery Series.
Carol M. Wright says
I have a question about the GRACE CHAPEL iNN series. Has anyone written any more books on this subject? I have collected almost all of the ones that were listed. And I can’t seem to find any more of them anywhere? Is there any authors that are writing new books on this subject? There are still a few books that I have never been able to find anywhere, and I presume that they are out of print by now. Thanks for any information.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Carol, I don’t think there has been a new Grace Chapel Inn book for almost a decade. It doesn’t seem likely that there will be any more at this point.
Patti says
Looking for a series, I don’t remember very much. A lady is renovating a big inn or mansion, it has a set of servant stairs in an unrenovated section that guests are not supposed to use and are separated by a locked door, but some one gets killed on them. Maybe a dog or cat clues the owner to the body. In another book in the series, someone doing renovation to a room (I want to say a ballroom type room) finds an old skeleton in a wall…I think it’s on a bluff, near a river or lake or ocean.
Thank you
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Patti, hmm, I’m not sure about this one! I’m putting together a questions post, so maybe someone else will be able to help.
