Margaret StashEmpress says
Oh wow what a bumper crop! So many of my favorites, I can’t even count them!
(And will somebody PLEASE publish a synopsis of Richard Jury’s world because I don’t remember who half of the recurring characters are anymore!)
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret, it certainly does look like it’s going to be a good month!
Ingrid Rosenberg says
I published this in my comment further down the line and belatedly realized I should have put it here… so I will.
Margaret StashEmpress… I am also having trouble remembering the characters in Richard Jury’s world but googling “characters in Richard Jury books” took me to a Wiki page that has a good bit of information. Perhaps that will help you, too. Good luck and enjoy.

THREE this month! Blackwell, Hillerman and Shelton! Well…I’ve just started on the Hillerman series, so it will be awhile before I’m ready to order that one, but YAY!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I’m glad to be able to help you round out your collection a bit!
Bek says
LOL, if my collection gets much rounder, it will roll out the door, down the street, and never be seen again! OH WHAT A TRAGEDY that would be, since I re-read constantly!
Susy S says
There goes the budget again! Several books on my “Will Not Wait” list and 3 or 4 of my buy soon authors list.
I have been waiting anxiously for the next Book Retreat Mystery book. I really like this series, in spite of its’ highly improbable premise. The next book in the Jenn McKinlay Cupcake series is one I will probably finish within a day or two of purchasing. I love the local, which is accurately portrayed (after all she does live there) and the characters are the kind of people I would like to hang out with, so I suspect I will be going to the bookstore on the way home from work,
I am disappointed that the Kathleen Bridge book is only available as an e-book. As some may have read before, my eyes and e-books don’t really get along well.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susy, I’m sorry to hear that you won’t be able to enjoy Death by the Sea, but at least there will still be a good number of other books for you to enjoy in April!
Melanie says
Susy – I also wish that the By the Sea series was available in paperback, but I’ll get it anyway. I much prefer books in print (not only because I think they’re easier on the eyes, but also because I just like holding an actual book in my hands), but an eBook once in awhile is okay…and I like to take my eReader on trips with me.
The new Deadly Edits series is being released in hardcover first, so I’ll be holding off on that one until it’s available in some form of paperback (unless the hardcover becomes available from one of the book clubs, but I haven’t seen it on a coming soon list yet, so I doubt it will).
Linda says
Amazon is showing deadly edits series publication date may 29 not an April date.
Bek says
I am SO in touch! As much as I adore The Cozy Mystery Blog, and can’t WAIT for new updates, my budget often suffers for it. LOL, I live alone, and have been known to cut my grocery budget for books. PB&J or hot dogs for a week is a small price to pay for good books!
Susy S says
Bek, got a good freezer? That was how I handled a 25% drop in pay for two years without COMPLETELY cutting my book budget.
There are at least 8 on this list that I would like to add to my TBR. April is my birthday month so I will be asking for some as gifts, I will get a nice B & N gift card from my sister, which will pay for some and I still have a couple of gift cards from my sweetie, so the budget will be OK.
Like you however, I am pretty much out of space. I am thinking of boxing up some I don’t plan to reread this year and store them in my closet. Then next winter when I am cold and depressed, I can take them out and play with my collection by reorganizing what to store and what to read next year.
Bek says
Suzy – I live in a small apartment, and I could get 3 bookcases in the space of ONE FREEZER, LOL. There really isn’t room for one, although I’m considering one of the very small chest types, so I can take advantage of good sales. Right now, I’m making do with the freezer compartment of my fridge. Hmmmmmm…birthday coming up, and elder son is hinting about what I want…Those small freezers really don’t cost that much (well, not in HIS world)! That’s a GREAT IDEA! THANKS!
MJ says
I like this author’s other series, so, I too was disappointed to see it only in the e-book format.
However, I’ve found that sometimes when an e-book is listed, the paper format follows a month or two later.
Susy S says
Yes, and sometimes they will be available as pint on demand in a few months as well. They are more expensive a POD, which sucks, but when my eyes have had enough, I give in or request them as gifts.
I am hoping that when I retire and no longer spend all day on a computer, I can handle more on my tablet.
Melissa says
Great list, thanks!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Melissa, you’re welcome!
Melanie says
“Murder in the Locked Library”, “Death by the Sea”, “Bad Neighbors”, “Crime & Punctuation”, “Murder at the Mushroom Festival”, “Wedding Cake Crumble”,”Lost Books and Old Bones” and “Farewell, My Cuckoo” are all part of series that are on my TBR pile or on my wish list.
April is going to be an expensive month. Not that I mind…it’s a good problem to have. 🙂
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Melanie, it does look like another really great month!

I’m not sure where to post this, but for those who have read and enjoyed the Sheriff Dan Rhodes series by Bill Crider, I’m saddened by learning of his death on Feb. 12. I had heard that he had been seriously ill and moved into Hospice several months ago. I really like his Rhodes series as well as several others he wrote set on college campuses. They were humorous with fun plots and enjoyable characters. RIP Mr. Crider.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Robin, that’s very sad to hear. Bill Crider was one of the author of one of the longest running mystery series active,, and his loss will be felt by the mystery community and fans alike.
Ingrid Rosenberg says
Not an ebook fan for several reasons but look forward to some favorite authors whose new books are still available in mass market print edition like Susan Wittig Albert, Cleo Coyle, Mary Daheim, and Martha Grimes… at least I HOPE they are still being published in mass market version. Just sorry that so many others are not.
Margaret StashEmpress… I am also having trouble remembering the characters in Richard Jury’s world but googling “characters in Richard Jury books” took me to a Wiki page that has a good bit of information. Perhaps that will help you, too. Good luck and enjoy.
Janice G says
Elizabeth J. Duncan has a new book, The Marmalade Murders coming out in April. It’s part of the Penny Brannigan series.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Janice, thanks for the heads up! I’ve added it to the Soon to be Released page and her author page.
