I know I say this just about every month I post one of these Upcoming Television Mystery Movies entries, but really, where has the time gone? Can you believe we’re already starting the fifth month of 2014? I can’t!
I have to tell you that when I go through my TCM Now Playing guide and find movies that I really want to see, I wish my DVR would go out further than just a two week time frame. I have recently started taping movies that I have seen already, but I know I’m going to want to see again.
Anyway, here are the TCM mystery movies that I was able to find for the month of May 2014, plus I am telling you about some others that you just might enjoy.

Ohhhhhhh, thank you!!!!
Thank you so much, for giving us these lists!!!!
Tessa~
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Tessa, I haven’t seen a lot of the listed movies, but I have seen some that I’m planning on taping again (Laura and The Catered Affair).
Oh, and I remember The Night of the Hunter as being super creepy! (In a good way!)
Jude says
A HUGE thank you for doing so much work to get this together. I find I’ve come to rely on it.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jude, you are quite welcome. I guess these lists are where my compulsive traits are best used!
Deb B says
The Thin Man movies – do they get any more fun? The Last Wave is one I could watch over and over yet always find a nuance that gives it a little different spin.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Deb B, I’m glad you mentioned how good The Last Wave is. I don’t think I had ever heard of it before. Thanks for the recommendation!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Deb B, you’re right about the Thin Man movies being fun. (How Nick and Nora were able to do so much crime-solving between martinis is still a mystery to me!)
Susan Sundwall says
My goodness. How thorough you are! Thanks bunches. Great list.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan, you’re welcome. I’m really looking forward to some of these mystery movies…
Marja says
Actually the “Little Women” I love the best is the 1990s version with Winona Ryder and Susan Sarandon, and Gabriel Byrne as the professor Jo meets when she moves to the big city.
After that one, I like Katharine Hepburn’s 1933 version.
I love, adore, the “Thin Man” movies. I used to think the “Thin Man” was Nick Charles, but actually he was the title character of the first movie. (Mr Powell is thin too!) But the movie studio liked the title, and stuck with it. (Dashiell Hammett did write several of the subsequent movies.) I love William Powell and Myrna Loy together! Just watching their interactions makes me all bubbly inside. The mysteries, though excellent, are almost incidental for me compared with the delightful pair, Nick and Nora.
Saw “It Happened on 5th Avenue” recently and it is a charmer! And there is a mysterious *person* involved 😉
I also loved “84 Charing Cross Road,” Danna.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marja, I enjoyed the 1990s version of Little Women, also.
I also am a fan of the William Powell/Myrna Loy movies. Their chemistry was almost palpable.
