It’s almost November, and I finished the Upcoming Television Mystery Movies entry a bit early. Here are the television mystery movies that we have in store for us during November 2014. I have also listed a few of my truly-enjoyed non-mystery movies, just in case you might be in the mood for one of them.
These are mystery movies from the Turner Classic Movies channel, as well as the PBS Masterpiece Mystery shows. I hope you’re able to find a few that spark your interest.
As usual, if you know of any other mystery movie that will be airing during the month (November), please post a comment. We’d all love to know about it. Thank you!

I recently started including the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel’s line up in my monthly television mystery movies entry. However, the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel just changed their online schedule, and I find it so difficult to read through that I won’t be able to include these movies anymore. I’m sorry!

If you know of any other Mystery theme movies that are going to be aired on television during November 2014, please post a comment.
If you would like to see more Television and Movies ideas, click on this link.
Here is last month’s Upcoming Television Mystery Movies for October 2014 entry, in case you want to see what is playing the rest of this month.
And this is the Upcoming Halloween Television Movies for October 2014 entry.
Margaret M. says
The Bad Seed is one of my favorite movies and has been since I was a little girl, so I am not sure what that says about me (haha.) But Patty McCormack was 11 when she played Rhoda and I was probably that age when I discovered it. They remade in in 1985, great cast, but not a great movie.
The Long, Long Trailer (not a mystery) is another favorite. I love Lucy and Desi. This is such a funny movie. Poor Lucy and her rocks! I think I would probably do the same thing.
I was so glad I was able to find both on DVD.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret M, The Bad Seed is the type of movie that stays with you! Yow!
As for The Long, Long Trailer >>> Aren’t Lucy and “Ricky” a terrific couple? Love those rocks! (I’m smiling just thinking about them.)
alfred says
Margaret M and Danna what about the mud bath in The Long, Long Trailer when they are on the logging road.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Alfred, Lucy had a way of making even the most crazy things look “normal” and Desi was simply wonderful as her always-loving husband.
Carolyn H says
Wonderful viewing list.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Carolyn H, I think there are some good ones here, too!
mary says
hello. what a strange coincidence! i watched Pillow Talk last night. true, not a mystery, but lots of fun. gorgeous clothes, wonderful sets of apartments and nightclubs, sparkling dialogue too. had not seen in a long time, so it was a happy re-watching.
then Arsenic and Old Lace…not a mystery either, but i think it takes place around Halloween.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Mary, I think Pillow Talk is my favorite of the Doris Day/Rock Hudson movies. I had long loved the movie when I showed it to my daughter. I wasn’t quite sure if a very young adult would enjoy it, and was quite gratified that she did.
Watching Cary Grant with his aunts in Arsenic and Old Lace reminds me of just how great Grant was in comedies.
Judith says
You might enjoy Pillow Stalk by Diane Vallere. Her protagonist, Madison Night, is a fan of all things Doris Day. It was a fun book.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Judith, I know! When I put Diane Vallere’s page together for the site, I absolutely loved finding out about Vallere’s Mad for Mod’s Madison Night being a Doris Day groupie!
Denise says
Thanks so much for the list great mix of mysteries and old favorites. Love, love , love Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old Lace and as for The Long , Long Trailer after all these years it is still wonderfully funny which is why…. I Love Lucy.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Denise, your comment is really clever! (It’s one of those things that you read and wish you had thought of saying!)
Suzanne says
These are some of the best mystery movies ever made. I don’t care for gore I prefer to use my imagination. Bad Seed is one of my favs also, Arsenic and old Lace is another one I like. What really disappoints me is very seldom do any of the networks show Julie Harris in The Haunting and Roddy McDowell and Pamela Franklin in The Legend Of Hell House. Those two movies creep me out every time. Hallmark channel which is now movies and mysteries has some light mysteries such as Garage Sale Mystery and Wedding Planner Mystery also Jessie Stone. This Sunday is a Murder She Wrote Marathon.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Suzanne, I remember the first time I saw The Bad Seed. Yikes! As for Arsenic and Old Lace, everyone should see that movie at least once!
Thanks for the reminder. I probably should have put a link to both my entry with the October 2014 mystery movies and the entry about the October 2014 Halloween theme movies at the bottom of this entry. I’ll go do that right now.
Linda MH says
I have seen and enjoyed many of the movies listed, but my very favorite is Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. Such a great movie! I love the scene where Myrna Loy is discussing paint colors with the house painters–makes me laugh every time I see it (and I’m sure lots of us can relate to it–LOL). And the ongoing gag where the stars keep getting stuck in the unfinished closet cracks me up. Danna, thanks for posting this list!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Linda MH, Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, & Melvyn Douglas are all favorites of mine, so what a treat it is to see all three of them in the same comedy. A very enjoyable movie! (I’m going to have to watch it again, since I’m sort of fuzzy about the closet.)
Ann says
I can’t believe it was 1968 when Bullitt came out. I lived in London and adored Steve McQueen and always imagined living in San Francisco one day driving a Mustang. I got to San Francisco but we had a Buick at the time!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Ann, just another example of the movies not being anything like real life!
Larraine says
I watched ONE Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple. Never again. She turns Jane into some kind of bumbling, comic character. Those films are an insult to Miss Marple.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Larraine, I definitely have to be in the right mood for a Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple. However, I find them a lot of fun when I am in the mood for them. I would definitely not watch them back-to-back!
Kathleen says
I don’t have turner classic movies cost extra on my $220 cable, internet, telephone bill. 🙁
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Kathleen, I’m sorry about that. Hopefully you get either Lifetime or Hallmark channel. There are lots of holiday movies coming out soon.
