It’s the time of the month again to find out about next month’s upcoming mystery movies that will be on television. As usual, I’m posting the Turner Classic Movies channel mysteries (and some non-mystery movies with my favorite actors and actresses) that I think are definitely worth looking at. This month TCM is celebrating with the “31 Days of Oscars” which is the 22nd Oscar month that TCM has done! That’s right – where does the time fly? (Every movie they are showing has won or been nominated for an Academy Award.) (Since there are only 28 days in February, I’ve posted the Academy Award movies through March 3.)

If you’re particularly looking forward to these or other mystery-themed tv specials coming up in January, be sure to leave a comment below!
In case you’re interested in seeing the rest of this month’s television mystery movies, here’s the January television mystery movies schedule:
Upcoming Television Mystery Movies for January 2017
And of course, here is the page on my site with plenty of entries about movies and television shows you may enjoy:
Amanda B. says
Thank you! There are a few on the list I’d like to see and some I’d like to rewatch! Now I need to program the DVR….
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Amanda B, I have already programmed my Tivo as far into the future as it will allow me to program. There are quite a few movies I’m really looking forward to watching…
Patti says
Oh, Danna, thanks for the listing. I’m printing it out and highlighting all the movies I want to see–and boy, there are a lot I’m anxious to see for the first time or to watch for the umpteenth time.
Just last week I saw “All About Eve” for the first time. How could I have missed this movie in the past? Dynamite cast and dynamite movie! After watching it, I could see why it was nominated for so many Oscars–14, the most ever–although “Titanic” tied that number a few years back, and “la la land” was just nominated for 14! Pretty impressive.
If you haven’t seen “The Corsican Brothers,” this is one of my favorite movies from long, long ago. This is the movie that made me fall in love with Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. A great swashbuckler!
Every “Thin Man” movie is fabulous. Myrna Loy and William Powell are hard to beat when it comes to sparkling and witty banter. And Myrna Loy’s clothes!!! Wow!
I could go on, but I’m sure others will post their raves about a big portion of the movies you’ve listed. Thanks again, Danna!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Patti, I taped The Corsican Brothers a while back and haven’t watched it yet. So, thank you for telling us how good it is.
As for All About Eve, one of the best movies of all times! It’s pretty impressive alright!
TCM has sure outdone itself with all of these Oscar movies!
Patti says
Danna, I haven’t seen The Corsican Brothers in probably 40 or 50 years, but there must have been something very special about the movie–besides Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.!!!–which has made me remember it all these years. I hope it’s as great a swashbuckling movie as I remember!
Annette says
Did you see that in August there will 4 new Garage sale mysteries, I believe the ad said. whoo hoo love those movies!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Annette, I fast-forward through all of the ads (I only watch shows I’ve Tivo-ed, never live programs), so I missall the ads. Thanks for letting me know. I wondered when they were going to start the new shows…
Annette says
I usually do also, but I saw it as blurb at the bottom as we were watching the movie then saw the ad. I had to back the DVR up! LOL
