It looks like we’ll have two NEW Cozy Mystery Series to look forward to in December.
The first is by Alyssa Maxwell, the Lady and Lady’s Maid Mystery Series, beginning with Murder Most Malicious. This series stars Lady Phoebe Renshaw and her maid, Eva Huntford. Set in post World War I England, the pair will need to discover the the killer of the Marquis of Allerton, who dies while a guest in the Renshaw home. Alyssa Maxwell also writes the Gilded Newport Mystery Series, starring a reporter at the end of the 19th century in Newport, Rhode Island.
The other is the Christmas Tree Valley Mystery Series by Joyce and Jim Lavene, beginning with Murder Fir Christmas. This novel will introduce us to Federal Wildlife Agent Bonnie Tuttle, who will be returning to her hometown of Christmas Tree Valley, Tennessee, to replace another wildlife agent. Unfortunately the agent dies in a mysterious fire. But when it’s discovered that the agent wasn’t killed by the fire but shot, Bonnie will need to discover the culprit to avoid a similar fate! The Lavenes are also the authors of the Missing Pieces Mystery Series, the Renaissance Faire Mystery Series, the Peggy Lee Garden Mystery Series, and many more, both under their own names and under the pen names of J. J. Cook and Ellie Grant.
If you’d like to see if one of your favorite Cozy Mystery authors is going to be starting a new Cozy Mystery series, these two series and more can be seen on the New Cozy Mystery Book Series page.

Looking forward to the new Joyce & Jim Lavene series. Sadly this is one of the last few written by Joyce before her untimely passing.

I hope they release Murder Fir Christmas in paperback. It’s only showing in Ebook for preorder right now.

Jenn, I’m guessing it will go into paperback format. I just checked on some of the other self-published books in their series, and it looks like they are available in both formats.

I have not read any of the Lavene’s books. Where is a good place to start?
Margaret StashEmpress says
They have some really great series — and all different flavors too — you have quite a treat in store!
Some are paranormals, some are not — and some are “light paranormals” (or “paracozy” as I’ve seen them described).
The first series I read was the RENAISSANCE FAIRE series, starting with Wicked Weaves. The earlier books in this series are not paranormal — the series did turn into a “paracozy” series around book #6.
Another series I love (not paranormal at all) is the PEGGY LEE GARDEN series, beginning with Pretty Poison.
I love the MISSING PIECES series, beginning with A Timely Vision — this series is a kind of “light” paranormal series — the sleuth has the power to “see” missing items (later in the series, around book #5 it becomes more paranormal).
These are my favorite of the Lavene’s older series, but there are a whole bunch of new series and you really can’t go wrong with any of them!!!!

CuppaCozy, I think Margaret’s ideas are a great way to start reading Joyce and Jim Lavene’s Cozies.
