August will have three new Cozy series by established site authors!
First, Lynn Cahoon will be putting out Chili Cauldron Curse, the first in the Kitchen Witch Mystery Series. Mia Malone has taken a week away from her restaurant job to visit her grandmother in Magic Springs Idaho. Both Mia and her Grans are witches, though that isn’t the reason for the visit – rather, she is going to help set up a local food bank. Unfortunately, while visiting, Mia discovers the body, that of her grandmother’s new beau, and she will need to help stick around to make sure her Grans doesn’t end up blamed for the death. Lynn Cahoon is also the author of the Tourist Trap Mystery Series, the Cat Latimer Mystery Series, and the Farm-to-Fork Mystery Series.
Next, Hannah Dennison‘s Island Sisters Mystery Series will begin with Death at High Tide. Evie Mead’s husband has only recently died of a heart attack, and she finds a note in his possessions indicating that she might own the rights to an old hotel on Tregarrick Rock, one of the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall. Though Evie isn’t interested in investigating at the moment, her sister Margot has decided that the two should visit the island – but the impromptu vacation will be interrupted by another death, this one a murder. Hannah Dennison also writes the Honeychurch Hall Mystery Series and the Vicky Hill Mystery Series.
Finally, Amanda Flower (aka Isabella Alan) will be releasing Dead End Detective, the first novel in the Piper and Porter Mystery Series. Darby Piper is one of the members of the Two Girls Detective Agency – but now she’s working alone, as her mentor and business partner Samantha has died in a suspicious car crash – and evidence points toward Darby. Meanwhile, Samantha’s nephew, Tate Porter, a veteran and seasoned traveler, has returned to town when he hears that he has inherited half of the business. Both will need to delve into the mystery of Samantha’s death. Amanda Flower is the author of numerous other mystery series, including the Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series, the Magical Bookshop Mystery Series, the Amish Matchmaker Mystery Series, and the Magic Garden Mystery Series.

So far I have not started reading Lynn Cahoon (I only buy authors I haven’t read when they are free or very cheap), but the other two are on my to buy list.
This pandemic has kept me home and reading, so my TBR shelves are reducing in number, but I am still buying (thank you Poisoned Pen and Amazon). When I can safely go back to my favorite used book stores, I will probably go nuts and buy hundreds of books. If I have not read any new authors, it would probably have been in the low hundreds, but with the inclusion of new authors, that may not be true.

Susy, well, I certainly hope that you have the opportunity to do a lot of shopping some time soon!

Since I am in Arizona, and the virus is still in a growing first wave, that isn’t likely. Fortunately, at my current reading rate, I still have about 3 years worth of unread books.

Susy S, I saw a portion of the Poisoned Pen bookstore you like when I watched a Facebook live event with David Rosenfelt last night. The lady(forgot her name) doing the event was very knowledgeable about mystery authors/books.
