Got the Conte and the Miranda James added to their respective lists!
SIGH…Although I’ve read several of Leslie Meier’s “Lucy Stone” series, they have been books that were passed on to me by friends, and I, in turn, sent them out into the world to amuse someone else. However, the more I think about it, the more I realize that I just might have to start collecting those as well. Thus far, I have resisted the temptation, but I can feel myself weakening!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I’m glad to be able to help add to your addiction once again.

Bek, I can relate. I am reading all but two of the authors listed, and those two, Conte and MacInerny, sound interesting, I just haven’t picked one up yet….
Since I have already bought 16 books this month, I really don’t need to be adding to my list of authors I want to purchase.
I need to retire so I can catch up on my reading, but I will probably need a part time job after a year or so to pay for my habit.

So glad to see a new Donna Andrews coming — that’s my absolute favorite “zany” cozy series! (We have sub-genres LOL)
As for the rest- am I the only one seeing the market glutted with cat cozies? I know people like cats, but isn’t there a saturation point?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret, hmm, cats certainly are popular, yes, though I think that this might be a particularly “cat-heavy” set of covers for whatever reason.
Bek says
This is one of those “don’t judge the book by the cover” situations. Many of these books (not this particular group, but in general) are not cat-centric. Although the protagonist may have a pet cat, the cat is not a major part of the plot at all.
Now me, NEVER too many cats!
Susy S says
Empress, I think that the publishers have decided that putting a cat, a dog or food on the cover is how they signal that it is a cozy mystery. I think that some of the publishers have decided that the ‘crazy cat lady’ is the target audience. I would love a real chance to show them otherwise.
I know that the cats in some of the above stories are a major player, like Diesel in the James series, but the cat in the Coco series, isn’t normally a major character.
Melanie says
I’m adding “Forever Fudge” and “Claws for Alarm” to my wish list…both of those series are already on it. I wonder if I’ll ever catch-up. Somehow I doubt it, but that’s okay because I’ll always have good books to look forward to.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Melanie, “to be read” queues do seem to have a way of growing faster than they shrink, don’t they?
Susy S says
My feelings exactly. I saw a sign that said something to the effect that I have more books on my to be read list than I can read in my life. Since I keep buying books, that is probably be true for me.
