Ouch! My book budget is going to suffer in November. Six books on my must read, and that is on top of five in October and the new Jenn McKinlay (not mystery) that came out last week. I think I can give up lunch a couple of days per week to pay for all of these, and add the hardcover ones to my Christmas list.
I really am an addict. SIGH!!!!

Susy, I know what what you mean – for me, the really unfortunate part is that I buy so much more than I actually have time to read!
Susy S says
Right you are. My to be read file is embarrassingly large.
Bek says
LOL, I am SO in touch! According to Goodreads (which is at least fairly up-to-date, my to-read list stands at 635 right now, and there are a couple coming out that haven’t been added yet!
Susy S says
Oh Bek, I don’t even count my e-books ant more – last time I looked at the number on Kindle, I just had to click off. I still prefer real books, but as you know, some books are only available as e-books.
Then there are those free books on Book Bub that sound too interesting to pass up. That is how I have found several new authors (like I need more).
I would feel bad, except it is genetic – my sister will never be able to move because she has too many books, one brother just builds more shelving (his wife has the sickness too) and another brother is now required to get rid of one book for everyone he acquires – no more room to be had. My dad used to put his under the bed after reading them – no room for dust bunnies there!
Bek says
I live in a fairly small apartment. I think I have room for about 10 bookcases, so I can add another six. The four I have are double shelved. I’m thinking about getting rid of my king bed and going to a twin. If I do that, I can manage an extra five shelves on top of that! Of course, my cat will have a fit. It is, after all, HER bed.
I have three ebook readers and have yet to download a single book. There’s just something atavistic about a real book…even the smell of them, new or used, triggers a deep sense of satisfaction in my bitty brain!
Pam says
Susy, I feel your pain. The last I looked, I had over 700 on my Kindle! You need to try the EReaderIQ daily website, too, as I have found some good possibilities on there for free as well as Book Bub. Lately, with eye issues, I have been using my Kindle a lot since I can enlarge the font. 🙂 I even have checked out the e-book from my library for a couple of print books I have with the smaller print!
Susy S says
Thanks Pam! I already added about 20 freebies that I didn’t have and I only had a limited time to look.

Same here! Thank you for this blog – it helps me keep track of the series I’m currently reading. I also love finding new ones, which I need like a hole in the head!

When you follow through the entry, “A Case Of Bier” by M. Daheim to Amazon, it states this book will be released April 10, 2018. BN states the same release date, as does Harper Collins.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
MJ, thanks! I’ve moved it to April.
Bek says
Hmmmmmm…it seems I may have to give the Popcorn Shop series a try! It looks fairly tasty!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I know I’m always up for a food-themed Cozy series!
MJ says
Bek,
I enjoy this series and have recommended the previous books. Others also have recommended it on this site.
Just one comment, however, which I noted in my first recommendation. At first I didn’t like the protagonist (Rebecca), but continued because I liked the story line. She has a lot of ‘spunk’, but is also very outspoken (to her detriment). It took almost half the book to warm up to her. BUT, I’m glad I stayed with it………the book was very good, and the second book was equally good.

Several months ago it was originally announced Mary Daheim’s “A Case of Bier” would be a November release. After preordering I was notified the publication date of has been pushed back until next April. Hoping this happens more often than the average consumer knows and it isn’t an indication of a serious problem.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Tom, thanks! I’ve moved it to April.
MJ says
Tom,
I have noticed a ‘delay’ with some of Daheim’s B&B series in the past, usually about 6 months. It seems to be more the ‘norm’ with her than with other authors.
What is unusual — the books in the Jeanne Dam’s ‘Dorothy Martin’ series are released a month or two AHEAD of the publisher’s release date!
Margot J. says
I love this list. I copy out the authors I know I enjoy, and order on line the books from my public library for free. They notify me by email when the books are available for pickup. This way I have a fairly constant stream of new books to read without the expenditure or need for storage beyond a few days/weeks.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margot, I’m glad my lists can be helpful to you!
