I checked the list of books about dogs, because I have trouble spelling Laurien Berenson’s name off the top of my head. Do enjoy her books and have also read several others mentioned in that listing. I have 2 questions, who is the author that writes about a woman who is an animal photographer with a dog who tracks, has a boyfriend and they both go to dog training classes?
Also, I could use a good recommendation about tracking the books I’ve read. Do you have a good system that you can share? Thanks.

Billie, hmm, I’m not sure about the series you are asking about… I can recall a few that have dogs that track (the Raine Stockton series by Donna Ball and the Jo Beth Sidden series by Virginia Lanier) but I don’t think either is a photographer. Perhaps someone else can help you?
As for how to keep track of what books you have read… well, that’s actually what this site started out as! (It has obviously spiraled well beyond that now, as it includes many many many books I haven’t read yet.) So I suppose the best I can suggest is try to write them down! I know that’s a pretty obvious suggestion, but it’s what has worked for me.

I started a spreadsheet with the headings last name, first name, title, bought (book/kindle/available in library). When I have read the book I highlight the line. When the author has a new book book coming out I add a line. (I am on line 1500 with most of the books cozies!) This way I can keep track of authors that I like and buy them, reserve the books in library, buy them when you list the kindle sales (thank you!) and avoid buying the same title twice!
Danna I love your site! Thank you!

Emzee, that’s certainly a very detail oriented approach to keeping track of your Cozies! It does admittedly remind me a bit of my own methods. And thank you for the kind words about the site!

You can track you’re books on goodreads.com. Also good for reading series in order

I’ll second Deb’s comment about goodreads! That is my go-to site. A friend who works at our library got me hooked on that site a few years ago and I’ve loved it ever since – especially finding the order of “series books”.

Another good source of the lists of books by author is fantasticfiction.com I have printed off the author’s I read or want to read and mark the title on the left when I get the book and on the right when I have read it. Needless to say, the notebook is a 3″ binder! Then I add the title to my “Books Read” spreadsheet listed by author.
