Cozy Mystery (and Other Favorite) Books, Movies, and TV

I don’t know Charles Todd, but Jonathon Kellerman isn’t cozy. The Alex Delaware books are crime novels which can be quite graphically violent. (You usually mark non-cozies as such, is the reason I mention it. 🙂 )

Charles Todd’s books are not cozies. They are great books but are crime novels involving deep psychological issues that Inspector Rutledge has to deal with as he tries to solve complex cases. Some of these cases are in villages but a village does not make a book a cozy.

Thanks Scotti. I’ve not read Charles Todd, and I think it was originally suggested as a Cozy series, so I’ll put up that it isn’t.

Thank you, Danna, for posting some non-cozy authors, too. While I do like some of the “cozy” authors, my tastes are more to the “darker” side. In fact, you’ve posted quite a few new-to-me authors to read this summer! I really enjoy all of the work you do for this site and hate that during the school year my reading-for-pleasure time is way too limited! I have read quite a few of the authors that have come up on this list. M.C. Beaton is one of my faves!

Kay, you’re welcome! I have to admit I haven’t read either author in this particular post, but I do occasionally add interesting looking non-Cozy mystery authors when site regulars recommend them strongly enough.
