Thanks so much for posting this, Danna! Happy to be included in this list with A Premonition of Murder, the 3rd book in my Dream Club Mysteries.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Mary, and thank you for writing the Dream Club mysteries. I see where the first (Nightmares Can Be Murder) is a Best Seller in Ghost Fiction! Congratulations!
Mary says
Thanks so much, Danna! I was very pleased to see that, delighted actually! Thank you for all you do to promote us. Cozy writers and readers love you.
Ellen @ The Cynical Sailor says
So many great sounding books coming out. If only there were more hours in the day to read them all 🙂
Mary Kennedy says
HI Ellen, I feel the same way. So many books, so little time!! Some of my friends like audio books, so they can multi-task, but I like curling up in a comfy chair with a few cats surrounding me.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Ellen, I guess I know what you are doing when you’re out there sailing around the world! Sailing and reading! What a way to spend your days!
Toni says
I can’t wait for Kay Finch’s book. That’s a great series for anyone looking for something new to read!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Toni, thank you for the Kay Finch shout-out!
Daniele K says
Lots of good books coming up. Thanks.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Daniele, and there were even more! Yesterday morning, before I posted this entry, I found about five books that were on the list that have been delayed, so I took them off of June’s list, and moved them to where they are now scheduled to be released. Imagine this list with five more books on it! June looks like it will have a little of something for everyone!
Sheila in CT says
Danna. Thank you for the new cozy list for June. What a good/great month for reading and adding to the TBR list.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sheila, I agree about June looking like a really good month for us!
Julie says
I was notified by Amazon that there was a Hazel holt book being released this week. I was so excited, and ordered it right then. I mentioned it to friends. One told me she had checked on it, and it was NOT a new release, as I had thought, but just another release of a book that had come out in 2014. I was so disappointed! : ). I checked, and, yes it was one I already had. She wrote a lot of books, and I have all of them, and can’t keep all the titles straight. At least I was able to cancel my order.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Julie, this is exactly why I now keep a (paper) copy of the authors/series I follow, as well as a notepad copy on my desk top. Now I just have to remember to mark them off as I read them. I’m glad you caught this in time to cancel…
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Julie, yesterday I was notified that I am getting the Kindle version of Hazel Holt’s final Mrs. Malory book: Mrs. Malory and Death is a Word. I pre-ordered it back when I found out the Kindle format was going to be released. The book was released as Death is a Word back in 2014, but apparently they are finally releasing the Kindle format with a somewhat new title. (I see they are also re-releasing the “real paper” version with that same new title…)

I want to share what I always think when I see a month’s new cozy list. First of all, it always catches my eye that there are so many cozy books coming out. It seems the cozy scene has exploded over the past years. Second when I see one that I think is interesting many times it is somewhat into the series. I think ” I thought that series just started and now this is the 5th or 6th book. Where did the time go?” Then I see a brand new series and I wonder if this is a new series I should try. Will I like it? Which new series to try. Sometimes it is easy-like Paige Shelton’s two new series. I like Paige’s writing so I will definitely try them. It seems you had a blog one time, asking us as readers what brand new series we would recommend to other readers. I know it is fun to try out the new series but I am probably missing out on some of them that I would really like as I can’t try them all and that is ok.
So it goes back to recommendations from the monthly recommendation posts and my personal interests in the books. Thanks for letting us know what is coming up for us in the upcoming months. We can see which of our favorite series will have a new book and can make choices from brand new series to try.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Lynn T, I totally agree with you about the Cozy scene exploding over the past years. I still remember when we all had a few Cozies each month to look forward to. I also remember when places like Audible didn’t even carry Cozies, other than Agatha Christie. Those days are gone! (Lucky for us!)
As for finding out the 5th or 6th books are being released when it seems like the author just started the series >>> well, in a lot of cases the author just did! Some authors who have only been writing a series for maybe two years, are already on the 4th or 5th in that series, and they write other series as well! I don’t know how they do it!
Robin Oregon says
I also cannot wait for Kay Finch and Mary Kennedy’s new books. Along with Ellie Alexander’s new one. They are among my favorite new series. I’ll be going to my favorite bookstore tomorrow to pick up May’s newest ones and order the new ones for June. I guess it would be to hard to write one a month in all my favorite series. Just wishful thinking! (I promise I’d buy them)!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Robin, I agree that June’s releases look particularly good.
Margaret StashEmpress says
Wow!!! SOOOOOOOO many great new books coming!!!! Some favorite series — Julie Hyzy’s Manor House, the new Donald Bain/Margaret Truman title, Krista Davis’s new Diva book, Kate Carlisle’s new Bibliophile title, Laura Levine’s new Jaine Austen & particularly Amanda Carmack’s new Elizabethan title (which sadly will be the last of this series). But also so many NEW series I can hardly wait to try! E.J. Copperman’s Mysterious Detective series sound intriguing — and who could resist a series called the “Emergency Dessert Squad”???? I’m REALLY going to have to read that one!!!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret StashEmpress, Laura Bradford’s new series caught my eye, too >>> Let’s face it, wouldn’t we all benefit from an Emergency Dessert Squad arriving at our door >>> without the murders, though!
Debbie says
I have always enjoyed The White House Chef series by Julie Hyzy. I wanted to know if the current book, “Foreign Eclairs” is the last book in that series.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Debbie, unfortunately, it looks like it will be the last book in that series >>> unless the publisher decides to have another author continue writing the books.
Gail says
Hi Danna, I just read a cozy by an author named Stephanie Blackmoore, called Engaged in Death. (It was Released in June). It is set in the Pittsburgh area. The protaganist, Mallory is engaged and finds out her fiance is cheating. She calls off the wedding and finds out she inherits a house from her ex-fiance’s grandmother. It is a page-turner! I’m not sure if this is a new author but I do not see her on your site. Just wanted to mention it!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Gail, thanks for telling us about Stephanie Blackmoore. Her name looked familiar, so I just checked and see that several people have written to me and told me about her books, so she is on my list of authors to add to the site. Thanks, again!
