Joanna Campbell Slan wrote to me about a give-away that she is hosting. Yes, a FREE give-away!
As you all know, Joanna Campbell Slan is the author of the Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-n-Craft Mystery Series. Her first mystery in that series was nominated for an Agatha Award in the category of Best First Novel in 2008… which is quite an accomplishment! Photo, Snap, Shot, the third mystery in the Scrap-n-Craft Mystery Series was published just last month – May 2010.
Slan will be giving away “a signed copy of Photo, Snap, Shot; two I (heart) Kiki buttons, bookmarks, and a small album kit.” What a wonderful way to start out the summer!
All of the details for this very fun give-away can be found on her Joanna Campbell Slan Blogspot. Good luck to all of you! (This contest is over.)

Completely unrelated (Don’t throw me off the blog, please!) but did you see Camille Minichino’s blog post about her years working as a Nuclear Reactor inspector? OMGosh, she’s got a funny story posted. Check it out.

Yes, Maria, I read Camille Minichino’s blog… which is almost as good as her mysteries…

Dear Maria, since Camille is one of my blog sisters, I don’t consider your comment unrelated at all! Camille is, simply put, a remarkable woman, in hundreds of ways. She’s warm, generous, thoughtful, creative and what a fabulous scientific background she has. Thanks for mentioning her. She blogs on Tuesdays at http://KillerHobbies.blogspot.com

Hi, sorry that this might not be the appropriate place to ask this question, but have you thought of the weather as being a theme?
I couldn’t find anything on your website, so if it is here I apologize again. I’m particularly fascinated in books or movies set in bad weather i.e. rain storms, snow storms, hurricanes or other such phenomenon. 10 little Indians and Orient Express are the obvious ones. I remember as a kid growing up in England, 35 years ago, BBC 2 would show these mystery movies and the setting was always people being cut off by bad weather. I love those things. Definitely cozy.
