Is anyone here reading an Easter Cozy Mystery? I’m just about to begin reading Nickeled-and-Dimed to Death, a Devereaux’s Dime Store Mystery by Denise Swanson. I have been wanting to read it for a while but as some of you know, I love to read my holiday Cozies during their appropriate holiday seasons, so I have saved it to read this Easter.
Rather than spend my time reading an Easter Cozy, I should be getting our house cleaned and buying a ham. Our daughter has decided to come home for Easter this year. I think she’s taking advantage of being so close to us >>> New Orleans to San Antonio. This is the last year she’ll be in our area. She’s moving to Washington D.C. this summer, where she’ll be starting her permanent job.
As I was saying, I should be out getting a ham or I should at least be cleaning, but instead, I find myself at my computer, writing about the Easter Cozy I’m excited to be starting. My priorities seem a little UNprioritized!
Are any of you reading an exceptionally good Easter Cozy Mystery? If you’re not reading one right now, do you remember a particularly good Easter Cozy Mystery that you’ve read in the past? If so, would you mind leaving a comment? Thank you!
P.S. Click here to see my Easter Mystery Book List. Also, while you’re there, if you notice any Easter mysteries that are missing, could you please either send me a note or leave a comment?

This month, I read Big Bunny Bump Off (Zoe Donovan Mystery) by Kathi Daley and Eggsecutive Orders (White House Chef Mystery) by Julie Hyzy. In the past, I have read Leslie Meier’s Easter Bunny Murder (Lucy Stone Mystery).
I have enjoyed all 3 series not only for the plot and characters, but for the setting in each series. I like reading holiday books, but have a hard time waiting for the next holiday before I read the next installment!

Karen L, I also have a terrible time waiting, and my waiting causes me to lag behind with the rest of the Cozies in the series. But I do love my holiday Cozies!

I don’t usually read holiday mysteries (in season), but can tell you that the the Julie Hyzy book (Eggsecutive Orders) was great! The Leslie Meier was good too (Easter Bunny Murder). And while I don’t remember specifically that Nancy Atherton’s Aunt Dimity Detective was an Easter themed story, I do recall reading it & LOVING it!

Stash, I don’t remember that Cozy as being an Easter themed mystery, either, but it’s been so long since I read it. I have taken it off of the list, though, since neither you nor I remember. However, if someone else is reading it now and knows for sure that it is, then I’ll add it back on to the list.

Well its on your Easter Mystery Book List, so I figured you would have got it right 😉

Stash, not any more. Thanks.

Although I do read my cozies along with the proper season or holiday; I think the only Easter cozy I have read is Leslie Meier’s EASTER BUNNY MURDER. And to be honest I was surprised to see how many others there are.
Happy Easter and Happy Passover

I really appreciate this site…..printed out the list of coming movies (mysteries, classics, and such)……especially all the Columbo ones. I have marked them all up and noted on the calendar so I can program them to be taped. Columbo is 6 am! Thank you for all your research. Although a lot of my reading ventures into maybe not so cozy, I enjoy a good mystery. Have you read any of the Martha’s Vineyard series….by Cynthia Riggs….since I am 80, I love that the heroine and chief detective is Victoria Trumbull….who is 92! We stayed on the island and I worked at the local hospital back 20 years ago but MV doesn’t change much…..
Thanks again.

Barb2, if Columbo is one of your favorites, you’re in luck this month!
I read a few Martha’s Vineyard mysteries by Cynthia Riggs when they first came out. I’ve never been to Martha’s Vineyard, but my husband had to go out there a few times for his job. He never took the time to actually enjoy the island, since he would just fly in, attend meetings, and then fly out. It was quite a feat getting there from San Antonio!
