Here’s the Cozy Mystery news for this month, October 2018! This is a shorter list than the last few months, but I’m still glad to be able to share it with you!
First, Allison Brook will be releasing a few more books – though the news I have is a bit vague on whether these will be continuations on her existing Haunted Library Mystery Series, starring the head of programs and events at a library in Connecticut, or a new series altogether. Allison Brook also writes as Marilyn Levinson, and has written several books in both the Golden Age of Mystery Book Club Mystery Series and the Twin Lakes Mystery Series under that name. (The reason I’m wondering if the next two books will belong to her Haunted Library Mystery Series is because “Referenced to Death” is mentioned >>> and that sure sounds like a library term to me…)
Next, Laura DiSilverio will be releasing A Melancholy of Tombstones which will have as its sleuth, a historian who learns that she is the daughter of cult leader Jim Jones. I’m not sure if this is the beginning of a new series or not – but here’s hoping it is! Laura DiSilverio already writes the Readaholics Book Club Mystery Series, starring an event planner and member of a book club, the Charlie Swift Mystery Series, starring a private investigator, and the Mall Cop Mystery Series, starring a security officer in Virginia. She also writes under the name Lila Dare, which she uses when writing the Southern Beauty Shop Mystery Series, and as Ella Barrick, when she writes the Ballroom Dance Mystery Series.
Finally, Kate Kingsbury will be writing more in her Pennyfoot Hotel Holiday Mystery Series, an extension of her Pennyfoot Hotel Series set in Edwardian England. This is huge news, since there hasn’t been a Holiday Pennyfoot novel in five years! Kate Kingsbury also writes the WWII Manor House Mystery Series, and (as Allison Kingsley) the Raven’s Nest Bookstore Mystery Series as well as the Bellehaven House Mystery Series – as Rebecca Kent. This is pretty terrific news for a lot of us who have followed this holiday Cozy Mystery series for years!
That does it for the October 2018 Cozy Mystery News. As I said, it’s a bit shorter than the last few months, but still good news! I’ll be back next month for November’s news!

Just when I think I’m safe for a month, you throw in a little piece of a sentence, and here I go again! I’m addicted to ballroom dancing, and was unaware of the Ballroom Dance Mystery series! OFF to mark them all as “to read” and set up their page in my file. GOOD GRIEF!

I just discovered the Raven’s Nest series as Allison Kingsley, which I love, and now I have to add another name to search for when I am looking at who to buy this month.
Lois says
Great news about the Kate Kingsbury Pennyfoot book! I was so upset when they discontinued them! They make a lovely Christmas read!

Lois, it’s always great when an old favorite series suddenly revives after a hiatus, isn’t it?
PamB says
I, too, am glad a new Holiday Pennyfoot Hotel mystery will be coming. I have ‘Herald of Death’ in my TBR Christmas stack for this year. In light of the good news I just might read ‘The Clue is in the Pudding’ also!
