I have just finished the second book in the A Baker Street Mystery series, and I loved every minute of the series so far. I listened on Audible, and the narrator really made the characters come alive! All of them come across as authentic, and they each have depth to them. The plot keeps you engaged – mystery, friendship, and romance, and the bonus is a fun 250 lb. English mastiff named Baby who always inserts himself into the chaos and mystery!

Just finished Grounds For Murder by Tara Lush. Really enjoyed it . This is a new to me author so I will definitely be reading more of her books.

Jenn McKinlay is a favorite, especially once I read her Library Lover’s series. I began the Hat Shop series and had to get the next as soon as I finished one in the series! I rarely laugh out loud while reading, but these characters promoted that response! I know there are plenty in the Cupcake Bakery series, and I hope they are as delightfully delicious.

Love the Cupcake Bakery series! Reading the latest one now, and loved Death in the Stacks with characters from all the series!

I’m still a bit new to cozies. Nevertheless, I’m stunned that I’ve never heard of Jenn McKinlay. I’m so looking forward to reading through her different series. Thanks so much for your recommendation!

Dear Danna: I am working through Peggy Ehthart’s Knit and Nibble series and just finished the first two: Murder She Knit and Died in the Wool. Both very good as is the whole series. Also a few of Anne Perry’s Thomas and Charlotte Pitt books (hardly called cozies however). Love
Robin Paige’s books with Susan and William ALbert’s Victorian and Edwardian mystery series.
Always look forward to Leslie Budewicz’s Seattle Spice series with Pepper and company. Happy and Holidays for all of you.

I read Death Under the Sea by Rosalie Spielman and My Cousin Skinny by EJ Copperman, both of which were very funny.
Murder at the Serpentine Bridge by Andrea Penrose, Murder on Mistletoe Lane by Clara McKenna, and Jane and the Final Mystery were all good historical mysteries. The real Jane Austen died young so that book was somewhat sad. Of course everyone in all those historical are dead now!

I enjoyed The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman, the 4th in The Thursday Murder Club series, which I’ve recently caught up with. Richard Osman was in my neck of the woods recently doing a talk, so it was a delight to hear him speak about these characters I’ve become fond of.

If you enjoy cute Paranormal Cozy Mysteries Annabel Chase has 2 back to back series Spellbound (first book Curse the Day) and Spellbound Ever After. I found these quite enjoyable. She has other series too.

This month I would like to recommend Vanilla Bean Vengeance by Agatha Frost.
Claire lives in the fictional village of Northash in England. She works in the candle factory, but what she really wants to do is open her own candle shop, selling her own homemade candles.
When her boss dies in front of her, Claire tries to find the culprit and help save the factory.
The characters are believable and the family dynamics relatable. The mystery was well written and I did not see the end coming.
I look forward to reading more!

I just finished Shimmer of Red, the latest (third) mystery from Valerie Wilson Wesley. Widow Odessa Jones, the main character, has some psychic ability but it does not overwhelm the plot. While a bit dark at times, it’s a satisfying read and the characters are well-drawn. Best to start with the first in the series, A Glimmer of Death, for info about the supporting characters.
I also enjoyed re-reading one of Amanda Flowers’ Amish mysteries, Marriage can be Mischief and Lynn Cahoon’s Farm-to-Fork mysteries, Who Moved my Goat Cheese? Both novels and whole series are great reads.
Read a new author for me, Catherine Bruns, and enjoyed her first in the Maple House mystery series, a Doomful of Sugar. Looking forward to many more from her!
BTW, MANY thanks for all the notices of great reads, Danna!

I am currently working on three witch cozy series. I am excited about finally reading the Ophelia and Abby series and have the second book on order. Damsgaard has created a likeable if troubled lead character and the ever present older witch to guide her.
I am continuing on with the Vampire Knitting Club and will start book 13 soon. Lucy is a novice witch with immense powers and is finally starting to use some of them. Her handsome male suitor, a vampire, is the perfect combination of looks, money and intelligence. Luckily he is around to save our heroine when she needs him most.
And lastly I have started the Eastwind Witches series. Fairly light and very different, Nelson has created a unique set of odd characters including werewolves, witches, familiars, leprechauns, and even an angel. Comedy is a high point here.

I love Alicia Bessette’s Murder on Mustang Beach. Callie is a bookshop employee, boy friend owns a gym, lady cop, lady biologist in charge of Outerbanks wild horses on Cattail Island. Thrilling plot, hard to stop reading.

I finished reading a very fun series. It is callled The Beatles Cozy Mystery series by Kal Smagh. I really enjoyed it. It really captured the spirit of The Beatles in their early days and the young lady who worked in their fan club. Different mysteries take place and they solve them together. A wonderful series that I enjoyed very much. There are 6 books, with the most recent one being released on December 5. I highly recommend!
