Four New-to-the-Site Cozy Authors: Kristi Abbott: Gourmet Popcorn Shop, Julianna Deering: Drew Farthering, Ann Myers: Santa Fe Café, Janice Peacock: Glass Bead

June 17, 2016

I’m adding another set of great looking Cozy Mystery Series authors to the site, as always from the recommendations of Cozy Mystery site member recommendations. It seems like I’m not even making a dent in my “Authors to Post” list >>> but I’m trying!

Kristi Abbott (aka Eileen Rendahl & Eileen Carr) lives in California, but like her the sleuth in her Gourmet Popcorn Shop Mystery Series, was born in Ohio. The Popcorn Shop series features Rebecca Anderson, the owner of said shop, Pops, which is located in Grand Lake, Ohio. Rebecca is often accompanied by Sprocket, her Poodle, as she finds herself solving mysteries. And, this series includes popcorn related recipes! As Eileen Carr she writes Stand Alone mysteries (romantic suspense) and as Eileen Rendahl she writes both Stand Alone mysteries, the Messenger Mystery Series (which is a best selling paranormal mystery series) and Stand Alone non-mysteries.

A fifth generation Texan, Julianna Deering (aka DeAnna Julie Dodson) is a big fan of quilting, cross stitching, and hockey. She is the author of the Drew Farthering Mystery Series. This series stars an English gentleman in the 1930s (Drew Farthering) and his American friend, Madeline Parker. As DeAnna Julie Dodson she has written several of the Annie’s Attic Mystery Series and Annie’s Secrets of the Quilt Mystery Series.

Ann Myers might live in Colorado, but she loves Santa Fe so much that she wrote about it in her Santa Fe Café Mystery Series. This series stars the chef at a Santa Fe café, Rita Lafitte. So far, all of the mysteries set in the Tres Amigas Café have taken place during different holiday seasons. And as an added bonus, the series includes recipes!

Janice Peacock has drawn on her own personal experience working in a glass studio to write the Glass Bead Mystery Series. This series stars Jax O’Connell, a glass beadmaker and jeweler in Seattle, Washington.

I hope you enjoy all these newly added authors!

Four New-to-the-Site Cozy Authors: Ann Charles: Deadwood, Patience Griffin: Kilts and Quilts, Leslie Langtry: Greatest Hits, Sandra Orchard: Serena Jones

May 23, 2016

It’s that time of the month again… time to add new authors to the site! Here are the four most recent additions to the site, all from recommendations by Cozy Mystery site visitors.

Ann Charles lives in northern Arizona, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Washington. She is the author of the Jackrabbit Junction Mystery Series, set in Arizona, and the Deadwood Mystery Series, starring a real estate agent in the former gold rush town of Deadwood, South Dakota.

Patience Griffin is a nuclear engineer, but her passions include sewing, quilting, and Scotland, all of which come through in her Kilts and Quilts Series. The series stars Catriona Macleod, a former investigative reporter returning to her old home town, fictional small town Gandiegow, Scotland. Catriona is a quilter at heart. This series was recommended to me as being Cozy, however it is not a mystery series.

Leslie Langtry is the author of the Greatest Hits Mystery Series, starring a single mom from a family of assassins. She also writes the Merry Wrath Mystery Series which stars a former CIA agent who is now a Girl Scout leader in Iowa. Leslie lives in the American Midwest.

A math major at university, Sandra Orchard lives in a 100+ year old farmhouse in Ontario, Canada. She is the author the Serena Jones Mystery Series which stars a member of the FBI Art Crime team. She also writes the Port Aster Secrets Mystery Series, starring a researcher and the Undercover Cops Mystery Series, starring a series of different undercover cops. Along with these three series, she is the author of a number of stand-alone love inspired suspense novels. Sandra is active in the Christian author community.

I hope you enjoy all of these newly added authors!

Four New-to-the-Site Cozy Mystery Authors: Julia Buckley: Undercover Dish, Rae Davies: Dusty Deals, Christina Freeburn: Faith Hunter Scrap This, Kelly Lane: Olive Grove

April 16, 2016

Here are four most recent Cozy Mystery authors who I have added to the Cozy-Mystery site. The authors I add to the site come from recommendations of other Cozy Mystery readers.

Julia Buckley – Julia Buckley is a Chicago based writer who has taught high school English for over twenty years. She is the author of the Undercover Dish Mystery Series which stars Lilah Lake, a behind-the-scenes caterer and the Writer’s Apprentice Mystery Series with a sleuth (Lena London) who is the apprentice for a famous author while trying her hand at authoring. Buckley also writes the Teddy Thurber Mystery Series, starring an English teacher, the Madeline Mann Mystery Series, starring a reporter. (Recipes are included in the Undercover Dish Cozy Mysteries.)

Rae Davies – A former reporter who now works as a full-time author, Rae Davies (aka Lori Devoti) writes the Dusty Deals Mystery Series. Davies also teaches writing at the university level, through a continuing education program. Her Dusty Deals series stars another former reporter, Lucy Mathews. Lucy left her job as a crime reporter to open an antiques store in Montana. Lucy is frequently accompanied by Kiska, her Alaskan Malamute.

Christina Freeburn – Christina Freeburn had many careers before finally becoming an author of Cozy Mysteries and romance novels >>> she has been a paralegal, a librarian, a church secretary, a stay-at-home mom, and even a JAG legal specialist in the US Army. It’s no surprise that her Cozy Mystery series, the Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery Series, stars a former JAG specialist. The sleuth, Faith Hunter, has returned to West Virginia to run her grandmother’s scrapbooking store and solve mysteries!

Kelly Lane – Kelly Lane has worked as a copywriter, journalist, editor, and public relations professional as well as an author. She lives in Virginia, and is the author of the Olive Grove Mystery Series, which stars Eva Knox, an olive grove farmer in Georgia. (Recipes are included in the Olive Grove Cozy Mysteries.)

I hope you enjoy these Cozy Mystery authors as much as the Cozy Mystery readers who recommended them!
