Updated Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Cozy Mystery Movies – May 2019

May 7, 2019

This is just a quick note to let you all know that I just updated the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Cozy Mystery Movies – May 2019 entry that I posted a few days ago.  The whole month of May (2019) is now on that entry.

I see that I’m going to be able to catch up on some of the already-aired mystery movies that I missed.

P.S. It looks like June 2019 will be bringing us the premier of a new Cozy Mystery series!

PICTURE PERFECT MYSTERIES: NEWLYWED AND DEAD

Small-town New England professional wedding photographer Allie Adams (Alexa PenaVega) finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery when the groom is suddenly shot and killed during the ceremonial first dance. Suspicion immediately turns towards Allie’s big brother Greg (Jon Cor, “Love on Safari”), the ex-boyfriend of the bride. Allie begins her own amateur investigation to clear Greg’s name, teaming up with Sam (Carlos PenaVega), the newest detective on the force. Starring Alexa PenaVega, Carlos PenaVega, and Jon Cor.

I’ll tell you when the NEW Picture Perfect Mystery Series will premiere when I post the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries schedule for June 2019. (I’m not sure about the dates yet yet…)

(The above picture and description of Picture Perfect Mysteries: Newlywed and Dead was copied from the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries website.)

Some Cyril Hare Titles Now Available on Kindle

March 22, 2019

So, it’s been a while, but one of my personal favorite classic Cozy authors who is a bit underrated is Cyril Hare. Hare may not have written the most – less than a dozen books over several decades – but they still hold a special place in my heart… indeed, I wrote an article about one of them almost a decade ago. Well, they’re available on Kindle now… at least some of them, and I feel like it’s a good time to revisit some of these old favorites. I haven’t gotten around to it yet… but I still felt it might be worth pointing out to new readers… and as a bit of a preview of one of the upcoming books you can likely look forward to hearing more about in a month or two!

Get Me to the Beach on Time

February 19, 2019

I know I’ve been really slow about posting your comments and “talking” to you recently, but I have the absolutely best reason: my daughter and her fiancé just had a destination wedding in Key Biscayne, Florida. (They both live in the D. C. area.) My husband, son, and I flew down to the Miami area a few days ago and we couldn’t be more elated.

We had a rather whirlwind list of events to accomplish before the newlyweds headed off to Italy for their honeymoon. The wedding was for immediate family only – so it wasn’t too hectic.

Not only are we delighted about our daughter’s husband, but we’re also very happy about his parents. His mom and dad live in the D. C. area – so they have become our daughter’s “close by” family. We’re sorry we live so far from the D.C. area – but we’re happy she now has family right there.

The weather cooperated. Even though it was about as hot as San Antonio, the low humidity level and the coastal breeze made the wedding on the beach perfect.

It’s good to be home – and back to our familiar routine but I will miss seeing our daughter. However, cell phones sure make the distance a lot more palatable. I remember when we had to pay by the minute to talk to loved ones with all sorts of restrictions: weekends, time zones, roaming areas, etc. It always seemed to me that as soon as my parents answered the phone, my father would start saying: “OK, we’ve talked long enough… this is costing by the minute.”

Anyway – we’re back in San Antonio so hopefully I’ll get back to your comments a little quicker… “hopefully”…
