I&#8217;ve been searching for years for a book I read around 1969 or thereabouts. A woman goes in search of her sister, taking her cat with her. The cat likes a saucer of beer once in awhile. The woman develops pleurisy and has her ribs taped up. When she finally locates her sister, it turns out that the sister is *******. The woman might be a librarian (not\u00a0sure) and she drives an old car (might be a\u00a0Volkswagen, not sure).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you have any idea of who the author is, or the series, please post a comment.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you!<\/p>\n<p>PS&gt;&gt;&gt; I had to look up &#8220;pleurisy&#8221; :&#8221; inflammation of the pleura, characterized by pain that is aggravated by deep breathing or coughing&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Which led me to have to look up &#8220;pleura&#8221; : &#8220;a\u00a0delicate\u00a0serous\u00a0membrane\u00a0investing each\u00a0lung\u00a0in\u00a0mammals\u00a0and\u00a0folded\u00a0back\u00a0as\u00a0a\u00a0lining\u00a0of\u00a0the corresponding\u00a0side\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0thorax.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I love this site: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/\">http:\/\/dictionary.reference.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>***SPOILER ALERT***<br \/>\n***SPOILER ALERT***<br \/>\n***SPOILER ALERT***<br \/>\n***SPOILER ALERT***<br \/>\n***SPOILER ALERT***<\/p>\n<p>I substituted &#8220;*******&#8221; in Sue&#8217;s question.
