Well, I am off of the “catch-up-with-all-my-favorite-Cozy-mystery-authors” bandwagon, and it’s only April! Some of you may remember that I set a goal at the beginning of the year to read through all of my favorite authors so that I could enjoy their new mystery books as they published them. That goal has flown with the wind!<\/p>\n

Instead of enjoying my favorite Cozy mystery authors, I am finding myself enjoying NEW Cozy mystery authors.\u00a0The latest addition to my new list is J. B. Stanley (aka Jennifer Stanley).<\/p>\n

I just started her (new to me) Supper Club Mystery Series<\/strong>, and I am finding myself really looking forward to those quiet times during the day when I can get some reading done. I have tried a few other new (to me) authors recently, and found myself struggling to get to page 100 of their books, which is the\u00a0(absolute!)\u00a0most I “make” myself read a book that I am not enjoying. Now that it is taking me longer and longer to read books these days,\u00a0I simply do not want to waste my time reading books I don’t enjoy…<\/p>\n

Anyway, Carbs & Cadavers<\/strong> is the first in J. B. Stanley<\/strong><\/a>‘s Supper Club mystery series, and I am absolutely loving it. It has a lot of\u00a0Cozy characteristics: small town where everyone seems to know each other, non-police main character, no gruesome details or explicit adult situations, author’s command of the language (making it un<\/strong>necessary to need to use profanity to get across strong emotions), and main characters with whom\u00a0I would enjoy spending time. It also has\u00a0something\u00a0which very much appeals to me: the main characters don’t all have long, unruly, beautiful, auburn tresses, and they\u00a0aren’t (unbeknownst to them only!!!) beautiful people with perfect bodies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
