Here’s the Cozy Mystery news for this month, August 2018! It’s a bit less NEWS than the last few months – but there’s still plenty to talk about!<\/p>\n

<\/a>First, Susanna Calkins<\/strong><\/a> will be writing a new series, the Speakeasy Murders Mystery Series<\/strong>, starting with Murder Knocks Twice<\/em>. This will be a series set in 1920s Chicago. I wonder if\u00a0 it will revolve around the prohibition theme! Susanna Calkins also writes the Lucy Campion Mystery Series<\/strong>\u00a0(which I happen to enjoy a lot!) – another period piece set in 17th century London, starring a chambermaid.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Next, best-selling\u00a0Amanda Flower<\/strong><\/a> will be beginning a spin-off of her Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series<\/strong>, with the series titled the Amish Matchmaker Mystery Series<\/strong>. It will star a senior sleuth who is an Amish widow who sets up Amish couples. Of course, she will also solve crimes. In addition to the already-mentioned Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series, Amanda Flower writes the Magic Garden Mystery Series<\/strong>, the Living History Museum Mystery Series<\/strong>, the Magical Bookshop Mystery Series<\/strong>, the Appleseed Creek Mystery Series,\u00a0<\/strong>the India Hayes Mystery Series<\/strong>, and the Andi Boggs Mystery Series<\/strong> (for children). She writes the Amish Quilt Shop Mystery Series<\/strong>\u00a0under the name Isabella Alan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Finally, New York Times best-selling author\u00a0Lee Goldberg<\/strong><\/a> will be starting a new mystery series starring a young female homicide detective in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Lee Goldberg wrote the FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare Mystery Series<\/strong> (with Janet Evanovich<\/strong>), the Ian Ludlow Thrillers<\/strong>, the Diagnosis Murder Mystery Series<\/strong>, and of course the Mr. Monk Mystery Series<\/strong> (starring Adrian Monk, from the TV show Monk<\/strong> – which he also wrote and produced).<\/p>\n
