It’s June, and I have another set of good news for Cozy Mystery fans! Which is good, because I’m spending more and more time inside… it’s sure hot! (More time for reading!)<\/p>\n

So, here’s the Cozy Mystery news<\/strong> for June 2018<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

<\/a>First, Nevada Barr<\/strong><\/a> will be releasing a stand-alone novel, in which the protagonist comes out of a “mental fog” in her sixties to realize that she’s been systematically drugged and committed to an Alzheimer’s care center. Some Cozy readers have told me they don’t consider Barr to be “entirely” Cozy, so keep that in mind. Nevada Barr writes the Anna Pigeon Mystery Series<\/strong>, which stars a park ranger.<\/p>\n

<\/a>In a bit more of a “definitely Cozy” category, Catherine Bruns<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0will be releasing a new Cozy Mystery series which will star an Italian cook, so maybe we can look forward to recipes as well? Bruns already writes a number of series, including the Cookies & Chance Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring a baker, the Carrie Jorgenson Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring an aspiring actress working as a waitress, the Cindy York Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring a mother and wife who works as a real estate agent, and Catherine Bruns also writes some of the Aloha Lagoon Mystery Series<\/strong>, a Hawaiian set series written by a number of different authors.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Julia Buckley<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0fans will be happy to know she will be writing at least two more Cozies in the Writer’s Apprentice Mystery Series<\/strong>. This of course means we’ll be seeing plenty more of Lena London, a writer’s assistant in Blue Lake, Indiana. Julia Buckley also writes the Undercover Dish Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring a caterer, and the Madeline Mann Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring a small-town reporter.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Kate Collins<\/a><\/strong> will be starting a spin-off of\u00a0 her Flower Shop Mystery Series<\/strong>. Yahoo!\u00a0\u00a0The Goddess of Greene Street Series<\/strong>\u00a0will star a sleuth who is bound and determined to save her Greek family’s garden center business and (of course!) solve a murder. As I mentioned, this will be a spin-off of her\u00a0Flower Shop Mystery Series<\/strong>, which stars Abby Knight, a florist shop owner.<\/p>\n

<\/a>As some of you who have been with me for a while know, I’m a fan of audio books. So this is particularly great news for those of you who share my enthusiasm for audio books… Audio book fans will be glad to hear that Mary Feliz<\/a><\/strong>‘s Maggie McDonald Mystery Series<\/strong> will soon be getting the audio treatment! This will include all four of the Cozies in her series, even the fourth entry which is scheduled to come out this July. The Maggie McDonald Mystery Series<\/strong> stars a professional organizer.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Fans of Allison Brook<\/strong><\/a>‘s Haunted Library Mystery Series<\/strong> have some really good news – she’s been asked to write at least two more entries. This means we’ll be able join Carrie in her sleuthing adventures as she heads the programs and events department of the Clover Ridge library! As\u00a0Marilyn Levinson\u00a0<\/strong>she writes the\u00a0Golden Age of Mystery Book Club Mystery Series<\/strong> starring a professor and the Twin Lakes Mysteries<\/strong>, starring a retiree on Long Island.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Julie Anne Lindsey<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0will be writing a new series! The Cider Shop Mystery Series\u00a0<\/strong>will star a sleuth working at her family’s Blue Ridge Mountain orchard. Lindsey also writes the Geek Girl Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring an IT manager and the Patience Price Mystery Series<\/strong>, starring a counselor. Some of you may recognize Julie better as Julie Chase<\/strong> – who writes the Kitty Couture Mystery Series<\/strong>. This series features a sleuth who is the owner of a pet boutique and organic treat bakery in New Orleans. Others of you may recognize Julie as Jacqueline Frost<\/strong>, the author of the Christmas Tree Mystery Serie<\/strong>s.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Finally, last but definitely not least, Linda Wiken<\/a><\/strong> is getting a new pseudonym and mystery series, as she’ll be writing the Castle Bookstore Mystery Series<\/strong> under the name Essie Lang<\/strong>. The Castle Bookstore will be located in the Thousand Islands, New York. Linda Wiken also writes the Dinner Club Mystery Series<\/strong> starring an event planner, and (as Erika Chase<\/strong>) the Ashton Corners Book Club Mystery Series<\/strong> starring Lizzie Turner, a reading specialist.<\/p>\n

Well, that’s a pretty good list!
