{"id":31,"date":"2006-12-03T16:54:12","date_gmt":"2006-12-03T21:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cozy-mystery.com\/blog\/inspector-alleyn-mysteries.html"},"modified":"2006-12-03T16:54:12","modified_gmt":"2006-12-03T21:54:12","slug":"inspector-alleyn-mysteries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cozy-mystery.com\/blog\/inspector-alleyn-mysteries\/","title":{"rendered":"Inspector Alleyn Mysteries&#8230;.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you are a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cozy-mystery.com\/Ngaio-Marsh.html\">Ngaio Marsh<\/a> fan, and\/or a fan of BBC productions, then you will surely enjoy the DVDs that feature Scotland Yard\u00a0Inspector Roderyck Alleyn (as played by the wonderful Patrick Malahide.)\u00a0 The main characters are Inspector Allyen, his girlfriend, artist Agatha Troy (Belinda Lang) and Detective Inspector Fox (William Simons).\u00a0 Beware, though, if you\u00a0expect over-the-top performances from these accomplished actors&#8230;.Malahide&#8217;s portrayal of Inspector Allyen is\u00a0very upper crust British, without a lot of emotion. If you expect overacted enthusiasm and emotions, then you had better pass on these BBC productions and stick with some of today&#8217;s current\u00a0TV fare&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>My husband and I both enjoyed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B0006Q93EW\/ref=nosim\/httpwwwmarkes-20\"><strong><em>Season\u00a0One<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(1993) and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B000CCD1SO\/ref=nosim\/httpwwwmarkes-20\"><strong><em>Season Two<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (1994)\u00a0of these shows. The only thing that we didn&#8217;t like about the series of shows is that they didn&#8217;t make more of Ngaio&#8217;s books into movies.
